The other day my daughter was making Challah bread and I was in a rush. I wanted her to shorten its proofing time so we could be on time for dinner. She said, "No, it wants to be all it can be." She wasn't even freaking joking, she just gets life like that. This brief episode is dedicated to that bread. And to the thousand joys between the time you KNOW you have anchored to something and the time it takes to actually come into your reality. Thank you to the inestimable April Steffler for singing with me in the driveway the simple Strong winds song, today's intro and outro. I included the unedited longer version of the song because it's good joy medicine to let strong clear uplifting songs get snagged in your attention and allow them to carry you aloft.
