Horror Brain Podcast: Mimic (1997)
Play • 1 hr 6 min

Good morning, afternoon, or evening to all of those out there in podcast land!!!

For this episode we're diving into the sewers with this chimera of a movie that deals with giant mutated cockroaches. That's right! If you haven't guessed it we're post-mortem examining Mimic (1997). Guillermo Del Toro directed this gem, and he had more than a hard time getting this movie made in his original vision. Unfortunately, because of behind the scenes meddling from producers and assistants, he didn't get his exact vision.

This was his first American movie, and thankfully it wasn't his last, even though he swore after filming that he'd never do another American movie again.
We have some fun laughing at this one, but we also see past the poop on the walls what Del Toro was actually trying to make-- something special as per usual from such a talented director.

Please enjoy!
Be sure to be kind to one another.
