In Part 1 of this 2 Part Podcast, Dr. Blake McKinley describes his assessment, decision making and criterion for adapting new technology in his office.  

Dr. Blake McKinley, Jr received his dental training at Creighton University, graduating in 1995.  While in dental school studied the efficacy of Argon laser (presented at ADA1992, Post and Core BU).  His graduate endodontic training was taken at Boston University and completed in 1997.  The research project he developed for his endodontic residency constituted original research on Inferior Alveolar Nerve Block Failures.  The thesis for his Certificate was defended in 1997, after being approved for a Masters and expanding the sample size, the second thesis was defended in 1999.  Dr. McKinley returned to Spokane, Washington and purchased his Dad’s practice in 1997.  They practiced together for 5 years, it was a great experience!  Spokane Endodontics, PS has been in existence since 1976, his Dad was the second Endodontist to move to Spokane.  Dr. McKinley has been practicing endodontics in Spokane since 1997.

Besides practicing full-time, Dr. McKinley is involved in leadership for the WSDA.  Currently serving on the BOD and Regulatory Affairs Committee, in the past he served on PNDC, DentPAC, Budget and Finance.  He also serves on the WDIA BOD.  At the component level, he is involved in the leadership of the SDDS.  Currently serving on the Exec Council as an alternate and the Budget and Finance Committee.  Previously he has served on Continuing Education, Budget and Finance, Government Affairs, Delegate to the WSDA House, Nominating Committee, Government/Health Services Legislative, President 2010-2011, Secretary/Treasurer and President-elect prior.
