Play • 21 min

In this episode, I will be speaking with John Hillary, who is a Ugandan climate activist, poet and radio host. John began writing poetry as a child and decided to share his poems on stage as a young adult. During this interview, we hear him recite one of his own compositions called Popcorn. His break into radio came when he started a podcast and was discovered by Smart FM, Uganda's number 1 English Broadcasting radio station. From Monday to Friday he is a radio host and in his free time, he is a climate activist. John has created an educational program for primary/high school students called Young Environmentalist.
