Today, we are featuring our great chat with Cassie Cao who is many things, but she’s also very notably an award-winning standup and actor based here in Toronto.

And she’s been racking up all kinds of accolades including being selected to take part in New Faces: Canada at the Montreal Just for Laughs Festival earlier this year which is 2019 and is an active member as an educator and understudying with the Second City Education Company.

We talk about Cassie, how she found comedy, her take and experiences of being part of the comedy community and the more nuanced things about the comedy world we, as the comedy audience, could know more about.

And if you are in the Toronto area or plan to be in Toronto toward the end of October 2019, Cassie will be headlining a show on October 24th at the Rivoli and more details about her gigs are available at

We talk about so many things and learned so much from our discussion. A BIG ‘a-ha’ being: Comedy (just like everything else) is complex, diverse and has many and varied approaches.

And even though we start off with a Fun Fact as we always do on Life Stuff 101, don't miss another Fun Fact or Fun Story Cassie shares about the love of her life, at the very tail end of the episode.
