Gate of Heaven Diary Ep. 16: Isfahán, Jewel of Iran
When Husayn Khán orders the Báb to leave Shiraz, He sets out for the city of Isfahan, 'The Jewel of Iran' where He has been directing His followers to gather. As the Báb's fame spreads through Isfahan, the city's religious leaders become envious and hatch a plot to have the Báb killed. The governor*, however, takes a different view of the Báb.
*Historical Correction: In this episode, I said incorrectly that Manúchihr Khán, the Governor of Isfahan, was a Muslim. He was, in fact, a Georgian Christian.
