Idolizing spending is bad, but so is idolizing frugality. To shift your mindset away from idolizing frugality: 1) stop shitting on how other people spend money, 2) check in with yourself how you feel when you're spending money, 3) have gratitude for your ability to spend and for where that money goes, and 4) check in with how you talk about frugality.

His money & Her Money
Engaged gang Wedding update—so far we have literally been under our planned spending in every category and it’s been fun AF. Today we are going to be talking about a mindset shift: Your money & his money. Right now, if you’re not married—there’s yours and there is his. But When you’re signing up for marriage, you are signing up to combining your lives—finances and all. So often, I get asked about couples finances, which is why I created Wealthier Together. But here are 5 questions you NEED to ask yourself about finances before marriage: * Am I fully confident that we are on the same page with money? * Do I fully trust my partner to have our best interest in mind with our finances? * Do I clearly understand our financial plan and have complete confidence in following it? * Is our communication around money open and fun? * Am I all in for combining finances with my partner? * Do I understand that going all in for the marriage means having the same bank a…

(Groceries) * Talk about any big purchase ahead of time. (Honestly we bought things desperately ahead of time). * Buy our own stuff separately. * Have a card that we put all of our entertainment, gas, dinner, etc on and then split that at the end of the month. * Open with our own personal finances * Separate finances, same goals * “Owe” each other as little as possible * Money dates

BLACK FRIDAY 50% OFF SALE: http://deeperthanmoney.mykajabi.com/black-friday-sale?cid=bcf4fb16-079f-48b5-81ea-0dcafdc3059e The reasons I don't tell people my goals: 1. If I don't hit them, I'll be embarrassed. 2. I don't want to make other people feel uncomfortable. But I came face to face with this truth: It's my job to make other people uncomfortable. Especially surrounding money. Because comfortable people don't wake up and change their fucking lives. If I trigger you...ask yourself why. We get triggered when someone else doesn't fit into the box we want them to. Are there times when that's okay? Yes, if someone is mean to you or something. But ask yourself WHY am I being triggered if it's not something that goes against your moral code. Do You Have to Spend to Be Abundant?
SPENDING IN THIS INDUSTRY -if you're really abundant...you will spend excessively, wastefully or recklessly? Now... here's the kicker tho: I don't mean that spending is BAD. But if spending a looooot of money is abundant for someone else and THAT is what serves them at a higher purpose...it doesn't mean that that is what abundance has to look like for you. and let me get this straight--there's nothing WRONG with spending. But if that isn't what serves you...it's not what abundance has to look like rn. Maybe abundant for you is paying off loans, saving for a home WHILE still having fun. Stop letting what other people are doing to enjoy, celebrate success and be abundant HAVE to look like your version.

What If You Were Fired Today?
My previous corporate employers has had some big lay offs recently, and it really made me reflect on my time at corporate. While yes, it is a "steady income" you aren't guaranteed anything when you're working for someone else. That's not to scare you into entrepreneurship, but it should get you thinking about two things. 1) multiple streams of income -dog walking -plasma -realestae -biz owner -side gig -VA -investing 2) EMERGENGY fund -one month of expenses -8 months of expenses just chilling -shit will happen, be able to RELAX I don't want to scare you into this. I want you to be able to live completely unattached to your paycheck and not depending on it in a way that would be detrimental if it stopped. BONUS: If you are looking for a new job, but scared to quit and transition bc it'll cost you, this is also a great time to save up: Negotiation Accelerator: Starting salary edition use code: "PODCAST" and get 15% off! https://deeperthanmoney.mykajabi.com/salary-accelerator

Treat Yo Self = Socially Acceptable Self-Sabotage
Awesome Treat Yo Self Categories -Go on a walk -Read a book before bed -Close your laptop by a certain point every night Crappy treat yo self Categories -Screw my budget I will impulse spend $500 at target -Screw my workout I am just going to go home instead -I'm going to buy starbucks or lunch out bc i was late and didn't prepare ahead of time When we act out of a place of instant gratification (like children), we think we are adding to our happiness, but in reality, these aren't actually helping our bigger picture goals. New Treat Yo Self -investing a higher percentage in your retirement -planning out a shopping spree & then taking one -taking a planned rest day from working out -planning out what you'll spend at starbucks & then buying it I want to reiterate that wanting something and buying it isn't a bad thing, but often times this "treat yo self" movement isn't actually treating you long term, it's just a glorified way to say self-sabotaging. Make a list of the things you do…

Is It Wrong to Desire Money?
Is it wrong to want nice things? NO. Not only do I believe that it's not wrong to desire more...I believe it's wrong of you to NOT desire more. I think it's your freaking DUTY to want more. And here's why. If you are living pay check to paycheck...how much can you donate to the church? Let's say you're making $30,000 and you try really really hard to donate 10% but some months, you don't even know how you're making the rent payment so you realistically only donate 5% = $1,500. If you become a millionaire, even if you stayed only donating 5%....that's $50,000 you're donating to your church. Let's say, since you figured out your finances, that you can now donate 10%...that's 100,000......HOW MUCH MORE OF AN IMPACT DOES THAT MAKE? When you are out of survival mode and you start thriving...your overflow of money, pours into t…

5 Wealthy Habits
For most people, their favorite cocktail is either vision OR action, but not a 50/50 shaken not stirred mix of the two. So through this podcast, I am going to have a mix of vision based content--beliefs, mindset, inner-childhood scars, dreams & motivation. And I am also going to have a mix of action based content--tangible tips, the process, the numbered steps, the logic. Whichever you lean more toward naturally, take the time to listen to the others as well. Today's pod is all about ACTION.
