The United States Postal Service is under attached from the inside and from outside forces. Our friends and neighbors in the Postal Service need our support and patience.
Postmaster General Louis DeJoy, prohibited delivery trucks from waiting for late mail or making extra trips, dismantled sorting machines, cut overtime, and reduced hours at retail post office locations.

It is important to know what happened before, during and after the 1/6/21 insurrection. S3E6 082521
January 6 was a terrible event that was viewed on TV by millions of Americans and across the world
We saw the ex President and others tell a large assembly to go to Congress and stop the democratic process
New reports have come out indicating that the ex president and members of congress were in communications on January 6 and perhaps during the insurrection
A friend tells me that a visitor to congress would have left bags, back packs and other items at the hosting legislators’ office
If we do not have a complete understanding of what happened on Jan 6 we will not learn the lessons of how an American Insurrection could be structured.
Think about it, there are no specific insurrection laws that have been leveed, at this time, on those who assaulted the Capital

Climate change and cousins, are we paying attention to what nature is telling us? 072121 (S3E2)
From Texas with a 100 year winter storm, to sidewalks so hot in Palm Springs that dogs were burning their paws, to the US Track and Field trials in Eugene OR being delayed due to record setting heat to new vineyards being planted in New York State that used to be too cold for that variety of grape.
Our nation's weather is changing.
There are already rolling brown outs in some parts of the country and requests from the electrical companies to modify our behaviors to conserve electricity usage.
Climate change can not longer be denied. That is a bad idea.
What should we be dong individually, and as a nation, now to make the changes a minimal as possible so that we don't have to experience major changes in the future.

The American Rescue Plan, Why not? (S2E12) 3/24/21
The American Rescue plan include $1,400 to millions of cousins, and an increase to the child tax credit. Others receiving benefits are restaurants and entertainment venues. States and Local governments will get some assistance with budgets hit hard because of loss revenue due to COVID-19.
Over 60% of the money in the plan goes to cousins.
NO Republican Senators or House Representatives voted for the bill. Why not?

Truckers are critical to the logistics of our nation. During the pandemic, as always, they delivered everything from testing equipment, to paper towels to vaccines. Critical.
Cousins, when you are on the road practice good truck etiquette.
When legislation comes up in your state that impacts truckers, be reasonable
-- 3.5 million truckers in the United States, independents, small businesses and large businesses
-- It takes 300 ft to stop a 80,000 lbs truck at 55 mph, an average car stops between 120 -140 from 60 mph, Do the math!!!
Truck etiquette – Bad Ideas -- driving in truckers' blind spots, cutting them off in traffic, limiting their distance on access ramps, road rage, cell phone driving in rush hour traffic, not maintaining safe distances between cars and not extending other road courtesies to truckers.

Concern for our Texas cousins and some bad ideas on the Texas power grid? 3/3/21 (S2E9)
The recent winter storms that hit Texas has left cousins there without electricity, without natural gas for heating and associated electricity generation. Some cousins are also exposed for large electric bills based upon their electrical payment plan.
The real bad idea was that I heard the Governor blame the 10% of power total generated by wind power as the cause of the major power gird shutdown across the state. A little further research indicated that the wind turbines had not been appropriately winterized. Come on cousins!

In my opinion, any objective that is not making voting easier is a bad idea!

Let's briefly discuss fascism and why it is a bad idea for the United States of America.
According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary fascism is:

a political theory advocating an authoritarian hierarchical government; - opposed to democracy and liberalism
An authoritarian system of government under absolute control of a single dictator, allowing no political opposition, forcibly suppressing dissent and rigidly controlling most industrial and economic activities. Such regimes usual try to achieve popularity by a strong nationalist appeal, often mixed with racism.

Cousins, we need a scorecard so that we know when we win. (S2E2) 1/13/21
We have a scorecard for most things that are important. We can keep a scorecard from year to year so that we know when we are winning and losing. Here are a few ideas on what might be on the scorecard. What are your scorecard items?
Below are the items we discuss in this episode
1) Hours worked by our elected officials, what are they doing?
2) Public health measurements -- nutrition, overweight, colon cancer etc.
3) Bridges and infrastructure issues
4) Graduation rates of high school students and percentage who took calculus. Because you need calculus in order to become engineers
5) A clear discussion of the federal budget, national debt and the need for tax increases or decreases
6) Number of imprisoned cousins and for what crimes
7) Minimum wage and the wage gaps

2021, what is important to you cousin? 1/6/21 (S2E1)
Cousins, what is your list of what is important for the country in 2021? This is not a complete list but a starter set. Include in the comments what you think should be focused on in the next Congress from 2021 to 2023.
Also cousins, future episodes will be available at 6PM EDT, to be more in line with sharing a glass and good conversation.
1) Education -- teachers, salaries and outcomes
2) STEM and STEAM – vaccine, scientists
3) Telecommunications systems, everybody needs it and wants it should it be a utility?
4) Median income for the United states 2019 was $63,179. 50/50 for all 326.7 million people. Is that the way it should be?
5) Healthcare concerns -- doctors, nurses and other professionals
6) Health insurance is a major concern of all cousins.
7) Our care for each other

2020 Presidential Election Results December 9, 2020
The 2020 National Election results were perhaps the most secure election we have had in the United States. The states and the Department of Homeland Security were strong their voting process development and diligent to technological attacks that helped ensure we had a election that was fair and that counted eligible votes. We all owe a big "Thank you" to the United States Postal Service, to all of the poll watchers, Boards of Elections, Secretaries of State and the state's information technology departments who worked on this election.
Claims of fraudulent vote tabulations, if correct, should come forward with proof of such actions. In the absence of proof, such positions are misinformation and counter to the values of the United States and serves to undermine cousins' confidence in our democracy.

The election was a success for all of the cousins 12/02/20
The election of November 2020 had the greatest turnout in total number of votes ever. It was also the highest percentage of cousins voting in over 100 years! A success.

Tuskegee Syphilis Experiment and the impact on clinical trials today - 10/28/20
The Tuskegee Syphilis Experiment "longest non therapeutic experiment on human beings" in the history of medicine and public health.
A federal, public health agency conducted an experiment with black, male cousins from 1932 to 1972. The study observed and tracked the impact of syphilis on the human body. It was known in 1947 that penicillin was a cure for syphilis but this information was not communicated to the men in the experiment. For forty years the experimented continued until it was finally made public and shut down. As a result there are laws and regulations, now against such human experimentation. This was not the first or only medical experiments conducted on black male and female cousins in the United States over the centuries.
