Is an evangelical egalitarian an oxymoron? As Wesleyans engage in evangelical circles, tensions often arise around the role of women in the church and the home. Certainly, complementary distinctions between men and women exist and are worthy of celebration. At the same time, most in the Wesleyan tradition affirm that women should be encouraged to preach.
