Susan Lyon grew up in Oak Park, Illinois. Her initial interest in art was sparked by a PBS television show on Georgia O'Keefe, that inspired her to take weekend art classes. Lyon studied art at the American Academy of Art in Chicago and was an active participant in Chicago's Palette and Chisel Club. It is there she first began exhibiting and selling her work. She entered the Oil Painters of America. Susan draws inspiration from painters of the Guilded age such as Anders Zorn, Joaquin Sorolla and John Singer Sargent. She also is passionate about artists like Philip Malavin from Russia and contemporary masters Richard Schmid and Nancy Guzik. Lyon's technique is to paint wet on wet to start and then wet on dry for her finishing touches. "My style is realistic with as much impressionistic color as possible. I like to combine wide brushes for sweeping strokes in the background with small, soft brushes for subtle details in my center of interest. One of my greatest passions is drawing, I hope to show collectors that works on paper is a wonderful addition to a serious collection."
Susan lives in a rural area of North Carolina with her husband, artist Scott Burdick, whom she met at the Palette and Chisel Art Club in Chicago. She and her husband travel widely "The excitement of traveling, seeing so many new sights and people, plus incredible works in museums; combined with the challenge of painting on the spot make me a travel addict! Even before I go on a trip I'm planning the one after."
Susan works equally in Oil and Pastel/charcoal and Mixed Media.

Daniela Astone ( b.1980 Pisa )grew upon in the sea-town of PortoSanto Stefano ,Italy, formally began studying art at the age of 14 in the High School of Arts in Grosseto.
After graduating in 1998 she moved to Florence to study Illustration at the international school of comix, in her second year she started to work indipendently for several editors and in the studio of illustration Inklink.
At the age of 21 Daniela decided to change direction and to re-start studing drawing and paint from life at The Florence Academy of Art under the direction of Daniel Graves.
She began to teach to the younger students in the Academy when she was in her second year , she graduated in 2004 with the end of the year award , but she continued to work as a principal teacher for the Florence Academy of art .
In 2005 she had her first and very successful Solo show at the Ann Long Fine Art Gallery in Charleston so she decided to build up a studio in the Tuscany countryside.
In 2013 Daniela became the director of the intermediate program at The Florence Academy of Art , entered in the BP award in London and recived a honorable mention from the Mod Portrait award,Spain .
Her work has exhibited internationally and in 2016 it became part of the permanent collection of MACS ,the Contemporary Art Museum in Sicily.
She also collaborated with Tiac ,China with Liveandlearn ,Thailand ,with Streamline , East Oaks Studio and teaches workshops of landscape painting in her studio-house in Chianti Tuscany and around the world.
In 2019 together with Gaia Grazioli she curated the Show “Corpo a Corpo” in the Museum of Villa Bardini in Florence thanks to Cassa di Risparmio di Firenze and Carlo Sisi.

Oliver Sin graduated from Academy of Art University in Illustration dept in 1996 and he has been teaching at Academy of Art University since year 2001. Sin was born in Hong Kong and has been living in San Francisco since 1990, he began working as a computer games concept artist upon graduating and has more than four years of experience at world-renowned computer games companies, such as Lucas Arts and 3DO. Sin has valuable knowledge and experience in many aspects as 2D animator, concept designer, background and layout artist and he has an excellent breadth of drawing and traditional animation skills and conception art skills. Sin is deeply inspired by fine artists Nicolai Fechin, John Sargent and Jose Roko, among others. Sin employs the influences of renowned artists and mentors Zhao Ming Wu and Henry Yan. The results are works of precise composition and evocative color harmonies in figurative portraits.

Allie was born and raised in
Centerville, Utah where she grew up watching her dad, Michael Hadley paint and sell his work in Jackson, WY. Many family vacations were spent driving to Jackson Hole where the smell of oil paint and wool blankets filled the air as her family followed the Snake River west. This played a large role in motivating Allie to pursue art at an early age.
Allie received her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree and studied several years back under nationally recognized artists: Jill Carver, G. Russell Case and Kathryn Stats. “Learning from these seasoned artists in a plein air setting was inspiring. My ability to see the outdoors and deconstruct its critical elements to formulate a well-planned painting increased tenfold." Most recently, Allie is studying under renowned landscape painter, Scott Christensen. “Thinking creatively and allowing time for ideas and themes to develop are key points for me in this ongoing education. I feel my art has infinite potential and look forward to deliberate exploration to foster new ideas.”
In addition to on-going education, Allie is an award-winning artist. She received the Impressionist Award of Excellence in 2021 at the Oil Painters of America (OPA) Western Regional Exhibition. She received awards two consecutive years in a row with the American Impressionist Society’s (AIS) Small Works Showcase. In 2021 she received first place at the Wet Wall Competition in South Carolina, and in 2022 received an Honorable Mention in the Toas, New Mexico exhibition. Allie is now a signature member of the AIS -an accomplishment achieved by only 14% of its entire membership.
On an every day occasion, Allie can be spotted painting the landscape in and around the Treasure Valley. “The richness of painting from life, whether in the studio or outdoors, is where I find myself as an artist.”
Allie currently resides with her husband and young children in Meridian, ID.

Micah Christensen | MFDA, PhD
Micah is a scholar of European, Asian, and American fine art, porcelain, and decorative objects. He earned his doctorate in the History of Art from University College London, where he travelled throughout Spain, Italy, France, and United Kingdom to study how artists were trained in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. He received his Masters in Fine Art from Sotheby’s Institute (London). There he worked with the founder of the Antiques Home Roadshow and other experts in the London auction world. Micah has lectured extensively, including at the British Library. He is currently a partner at Anthony’s Fine Art & Antiques (Salt Lake City) and a Board Member of the Springville Museum of Art. He regularly lectures on continues to lecture, write, and consult with public institutions and private collectors. He is a co-author of the Dictionary of Utah Fine Artists. Micah currently sits on the Advisory Board of PleinAir Magazine.

About the Artist
Australian artist, Paul Newton has works in the permanent collections of the Australian National Portrait Gallery (six works), Parliament House Canberra, Princeton, Johns Hopkins and Columbia Universities, the National Basketball Association, the Cleveland Clinic, The Temple Emanu-El New York, Credit Suisse First Boston, Morgan Stanley New York and numerous other collections worldwide. His portrait sitters have included Kylie Minogue, NBA Commissioner David Stern, White House Chief Economics Advisor Steve Friedman, writer Bryce Courtenay, radio broadcaster Alan Jones AO, Rugby legend David Campese, Governor General Sir William Deane AC KBE, former Prime Minister Bob Hawke, former Westpac CEO Gail Kelly and ABC Chairman Donald McDonald AC.
Newton has been a finalist in the prestigious Archibald Prize competition on twelve occasions, with portraits of such notables as David Gonski AC, Frank Lowy AC, Maggie Tabberer, John Laws, Patrick Corrigan, Fred Street AM, Donald McDonald AC, Rupert Myer AO and Kate Fischer. His 2001 entry, a portrait of Sydney Olympic Games commentators Roy and HG, won The Peoples Choice Awards in Melbourne and Sydney as well as the Packers Prize. His portrait of arts benefactor Pat Corrigan, a finalist in the 2006 Archibald competition, was acquired for the Australian National Portrait Gallery's collection. Likewise his portraits of David Gonski and Frank Lowy form part of the permanent collection of the Australian National Portrait Gallery.
Newton was a finalist in the American Society of Portrait Artists 2001 International Portrait Competition, at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, and his portrait of David Campese won First Place in the 2002 Portrait Society of America International Portrait Competition, in Philadelphia. Newton won First Place in the same competition in Washington DC the following year.
In 2010 Newton was commissioned to paint 32 pictures for the interior of the Domus Australia Chapel in Rome, Italy. Among the 32 works is a portrait of Australia's first canonised saint, St Mary of the Cross MacKillop, and a new depiction of Our Lady of the Southern Cross. An earlier painting of Our Lady of the Southern Cross was commissioned for World Youth Day and it hangs in St Marys Cathedral, Sydney, where it was blessed in 2008 by Pope Benedict XVI.

Born in California in 1958, the son of a mechanical engineer, he taught himself to draw by reading books about the illustrators Norman Rockwell and Howard Pyle. He studied archaeology at the University of California at Berkeley, receiving a degree in anthropology with Phi Beta Kappa honors.
Prompted by a cross-country adventure on freight trains, he coauthored The Artist’s Guide to Sketching in 1982. During the same period, he worked as a background painter for the animated film Fire and Ice, co-produced by Ralph Bakshi and Frank Frazetta.
His freelance illustration career began with paperback book covers, where he developed his characteristic realistic renderings of fantastic scenes, often using posed models and handmade maquettes for reference. His has worked on more than a dozen assignments for National Geographic magazine, painting reconstructions of Moche, Kushite, and Etruscan civilizations.
The inspiration that came from researching these scenes of ancient life led to a series of lost world paintings, including ”Dinosaur Parade” and ”Waterfall City.” With the encouragement of retired publishers Ian and Betty Ballantine, he committed two years’ time to writing and illustrating Dinotopia: A Land Apart from Time, which was published in 1992. Solo exhibitions of his artwork have been presented at The Smithsonian Institution, The Norman Rockwell Museum, The Norton Museum of Art, The Delaware Art Museum, and other venues. He is a popular lecturer at art schools, movie studios and game companies, and he teaches occasional workshops. His book, Color and Light: A Guide for the Realist Painter (2010) was Amazon’s #1 bestselling book on painting for over 52 weeks and is based on his daily blog gurneyjourney.blogspot.com.

Eric Bowman was born in Pasadena and grew up in Orange County, CA. Essentially a self-taught artist, Eric had a knack for drawing as far back as he can remember, always the class artist throughout his elementary and high school years. Early on, various art-related jobs such as silk screen T-shirt printer or surfboard airbrush technician led to a lengthy and successful career as a freelance illustrator, eventually transitioning to fine art painting.
As a painter, Eric has exhibited in national & regional exhibitions in some of the country's most prestigious galleries and museums including the Autry Museum, Los Angeles; the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum, Oklahoma City; the Briscoe Museum, San Antonio, TX; the Gilcrease Museum, Tulsa, OK; the Kaiping Art Museum, Kaiping, China; the Academy Art Museum, Easton, MD; the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles and the Salmagundi Club, NYC. His paintings are in private and corporate collections throughout the U.S. as well as England, China, Australia, Canada, Mexico and the West Indies.
Eric's work has also been showcased in feature articles with Art Of The West, Southwest Art, Practique Des Arts (France), International Artist, Fine Art Connoisseur, Plein Air and Western Art Collector magazines. He is a Signature Member of the California Art Club, and former Signature member of the American Impressionist Society and the Laguna Plein Air Painters Association. Eric resides in northwest Oregon with his wife and daughter.

I’ve been a professional artist for the last 20 years. Frances was born in 1983, and raised in Suffolk. After developing an early interest in drawing and painting, she then pursued art and art history at school. At aged 18 she made her way to Florence to pursue a classical training at Charles. H. Cecil Studios in 2001 for 3 years, and then taught sporadically there for a further seven summers.
Since the completion of her training Frances has been a full time professional portrait and landscape painter and has participated in many exhibitions including Royal Institute of Oil Painters, the BP Portrait Award, the Royal Society of British Artists, the Royal Society of Marine Artists, The Society of Wildlife Artists, the Society of Women Artists and the Royal Society of Portrait Painters Annual Exhibition, where she has shown since 2005. Christina Weaver (b. 1987) paints flowers and foliage from life. Her work celebrates the changing nature of living subjects through the study of color, shape, form, and light. Christina has a bachelors degree in painting from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia and a Master of Fine Arts in Painting from Indiana University Bloomington. She has received the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Grant for artists who work representationally and was recently a resident artist at Manifest Gallery in Cincinnati, Ohio. She has taught art in a variety of settings and currently teaches drawing and painting at University of North Carolina Asheville. Katie (b. 1991) grew up in central Indiana. After graduating high school, Katie decided to forgo traditional college education and move to New York City to study academic painting at the Grand Central Atelier. She has since been the recipient of many awards, including scholarships from Grand Central Atelier, Art Renewal Center, and a purchase award from the Indiana State Museum for their permanent collection.
Most notably, Katie was the recipient of the 2013-2014 Alma Schapiro Prize. The Alma Schapiro Prize sent her to the American Academy in Rome for three months to study the work of the old masters. Katie extended her stay in Italy, journeying from Rome to Florence and Naples studying antiquity and the Renaissance intensively for eight months. The months in Italy changed Katie’s life. She went to Italy to continue her studies of the figure, but after seeing the ancient Roman wall painting The Painted Garden from the Villa Liva, Katie began painting flowers.

Karen Offutt was born and raised in Dallas, Texas by a creative family who encouraged her to explore her artistic talent from an early age. Daniel J. Keys was born on Oct. 7th 1985, in Fresno CA.
Upon noticing a glimpse of artistic talent in him at an early age, Daniel was encouraged by his parents to pursue his passion, namely painting; and being entirely home educated, time was very permitting for him to develop his skill as a self taught artist.
He started painting at the age of eleven using a paint set purchased with birthday money. It was later during his impressionable teenage years that Daniel discovered the work of Richard Schmid: a master artist whose works he later began emulating in his own paintings. I work from namely from direct observation, meaning I stand within or before my subject. It is challenging taking large canvases on site into the landscape but I work this way to experience the subject first hand. Sometimes a larger painting will take two weeks or more and sometimes I need to return to the same spot the following year to finish. Typically, I also bring the painting into the studio and continue to work on it from memory. The experience of the natural world is always woven into the work I am attempting to make. Anna Rose Bain (b. 1985) is a fine art oil painter and commissioned portrait artist based in Colorado. Her paintings often depict people in peaceful settings or places that evoke happiness. She especially loves painting women and children, and seeks to convey all of her subjects with honesty and sensitivity. Anna was self taught until college. Inspired by her grandfather, who started painting at the age of 70, Anna spent her free time as a child sketching from nature and poring over art books. She studied fine art at Hillsdale College from 2003-2007, and in 2006 she took a figure painting course at the Florence Academy of Art. After graduating from Hillsdale with honors and distinguishing herself as the first student in the school's history to have a solo senior show, she continued her education by studying with several renowned artists including Judith Carducci, Clayton J. Beck, III, Nancy Guzik, and more.

Micah is a scholar of European, Asian, and American fine art, porcelain, and decorative objects. He earned his Masters of Fine & Decorative Art from Sotheby’s Institute (London), where he worked in several royal, private, and public collections. During that time, he was mentored by many leaders in the field, including Gordon Lang, a founder of the Antiques Roadshow.
For his doctorate at the University of London, Micah spent ten years in more than 40 museums in France, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom, and United States to research the classroom practice and patronage of artists. He subsequently lectured on the subject throughout Europe, including at the British Library and for Cambridge University.
