I noticed on listening this morning that I'd somehow truncated the opening sketch from episode 83, which would be less of a problem if it was my usual hackery, but since it was contributed by our guest, Simon Guerrier, I thought I should give you the chance to hear it in all its glory. Episode 75: Omnirumour 10th Anniversary Special Part 2
Here's part 2 of our Omnirumour 10th Anniversary Special.
On 29th March 2013, the DWO fan site said that 'a classic series related announcement' was coming and hinted that it was missing episodes related. In June of that year, the Bleeding Cool website ran a story suggesting that a large number of missing Doctor Who episodes had been found. Then Ian Levine tweeted about “three tons of evidence”. An e-mail, purportedly from a Radio Wiltshire DJ, but showing signs of mixed authorship was being passed between fans and excitement on the forums reached fever pitch. Lots of rumours were passed around and the number of episodes found was often said to be 90.
Finally in October the Radio Times announced that newly-discovered lost Patrick Troughton episodes would be made available for digital download within a week. It was proof, surely, that all the rumours were true? But after The Enemy of the World and The Web of Fear were released, that was it. And ten years later we still don’t kno…

Episode 73: Doctor Who Am I?

Over a year ago our podcast Twitter account was followed by Matthew Jacobs, the writer of the TV Movie. This was both exciting and terrifying in equal measure, as we'd just made an episode that featured the TV Movie, that had not been entirely complimentary. We became aware that Matthew was promoting an independent film called Doctor Who Am I? And recently Richard took the chance to watch it on DVD, though it's now widely available in the UK on a variety of platforms. So, excitingly, in this episode, Richard talks with Matthew and Vanessa Yuille who created the film together. This is funny and sometimes deep conversation about the nature of being a fan, with the added excitement of someone with a pneumatic drill attacking the outside of Matthew's apartment. Over a year after his previous visit to Something Who, here's another fantastic chat with the wonderful documentary film maker Chris Chapman about his contributions to the Doctor Who: The Collection Blu-ray sets.
I wanted to focus on how Chris uses his films to tell stories and to discuss the planning and editing processes as much as the actual filming, though naturally some of those stories come through too. We focus in this episode on Chris's new films for the Season 14 and Season 8 sets.
I think you'll be blown away by Chris's natural enthusiasm for his work, as well as his passion for the subjects of his films.

Episode 39: Hiding in Spacesuits
Gav surprises us all with his return to the Something Who bunker, perhaps drawn by the siren call of wine and science. Along with Paul, Giles and Richard he discusses two Doctor Who stories with a connection to 1969: Third Doctor story The Ambassadors of Death, which was written in that year, and Eleventh Doctor outing The Impossible Astronaut / Day of the Moon, which is set in 1969, both with strong links to the space programmes of that era.
We try to stay on topic, but inevitably we stray into programmes of the same era and we give Amy's Crack a particularly thorough examination. Oddly, despite the fact that everybody had a go writing Ambassadors, it's Moffat's episodes that seem to have the most loose threads.

Autumn has arrived, the nights are drawing in and naturally our thoughts return once more to Doctor Who. At the same time, it's the end of the cricket season and the start of football and this time we're looking at Doctor Who's two great sporting encounters, starting with 5th Doctor's cricketing exploits in Black Orchid, followed by the 11th Doctor's footballing feats in The Lodger. And who better to help us with that than Huw Turbervill. After Stevie makes his first non-squeaking appearance on Something Who (or should that be Something Degu?), Paul, Giles and Richard are back for our Giant Animals special. OK, it's a fair cop guv'nor, really it's our Christopher Benjamin appreciation episode. Up first it's Fourth Doctor adventure The Talons of Weng-Chiang, followed by Tenth Doctor outing The Unicorn and the Wasp. We find more to say about the former than the latter, but we seem to have enjoyed both. And while Paul appears to say nothing remotely controversial about either story, Richard dives straight into the fray with his size 12s.

Terrance Dicks Panel
Hoping to ease the disappointment surrounding the postponement of this weekend's Terrance Dicks Celebration event, I've dusted off this recording I made of a panel held at the London Comic Con last October celebrating Terrance's life and work. I hope it goes some way towards filling the gap.
The panel was hosted by Matthew Sweet, with contributions from Emma Reeves, Paul Cornell, Mike Tucker and Katy Manning.
The audio quality is frankly poor, but I've done the best I can to reduce the interference and with a bit of persistence and concentration it's entirely possible to follow the conversation.

It's the second special episode in a week celebrating the release of the University of Central Lancashire's recreation of Mission to the Unknown. Andrew joins Richard this week to discuss the project from its origins, through its realisation and release to possible future plans. After a visit to a podcast studio that's not quite right, Giles, Paul and Richard discuss two stories with half man, half bull creatures - The Horns of Nimon and The God Complex. 13Cast Episode 7 - Talkin’ ’bout Resolution
Crowded TARDIS? More like crowded 13cast! Mike finally catches up with us and, after a Morecambe and Wise catchphrase competition, we discuss the New Year’s Day episode, Resolution. Given the early(ish) hour of recording, Paul still seems to be suffering from a bit of Temporal Drift, but at least the audio issues are behind us. And when we've finished with the episode itself, we make our own Doctor Who Resolutions. 13cast will return. Eventually.

13Cast Episode 6 - Battle-scarred
The Gremlins have got a tight grip on 13cast this week. Giles' PC didn't record the first half, Paul's PC decided to reboot at random intervals and Simon's microphone was a bit variable, so Richard may have sacked the lot of them. But despite this, we've got our review ready for The Battle of Ranskoor Av Kolos and our thoughts on the season as a whole.
