S3E8: Sexual Sadists Pt. 5
In the 8th episode of Season 3, your host JD Horror brings you two more extremely disturbing tales as we give you part 5 of our series on Sexual Sadists. WARNING: The following episode continues graphic and disturbing depictions of sexual torture and violence. This episode is definitely not for the faint of heart. Listener discretion is strongly advised. You’ve been warned. Case #1: 44 Days of Hell - Four Japanese teenagers abducted 17 year old Junko Furuta, and for 44 days she was subjected to every form of torture imaginable. Known in the Japanese media as the "Concrete Encased School Girl Murder Case", this is definitely one of the most brutal and heinous crimes in all of human history. (The Murder of Junko Furuta, Japan) Case #2: The Collector - Bob Berdella, better known as "The Kansas City Butcher" would take his inspiration from a 1963 novel as a teen. The brutality of his crimes would eclipse anything that author John Fowles could have imagined when he wrote the story. Berdella would be convicted of the rape, torture, and murder of six men... But could there have been more? (B. Berdella, Kansas City, OH, USA) If you like what you hear here on True Crime Horror Story please subscribe and give us a 5 star review. 107. The Pretender: Kenny Wayne Lockwood
We are venturing to the college town of College Station, Texas home of Texas A&M. They like simple things like studying, partying and football. They also like getting to meet new people who share similar interests, especially if that interest is Aggie Football. Kerry Kujawa is a 20-year-old engineering major at the university and just like a lot of other students, he has a 21-year-old girlfriend name, Kelly McCauley. They were just like any other college student couple: cute, carefree, and working hard to get grades and graduate while having a little fun in between. They were, however, unlike most couples in one aspect: the two had never actually met. They haven’t even talked on the phone. They had only communicated in the chat room. Kerry had asked over and over to meet up with Kelly but the timing just didn’t seem to work out. It seems Kelly was not being completely honest with Kerry. What could have been a deceitful lie turned into murder. Join Jen and Cam as we discuss The Pretender: Kenny Wayne Lockwood on this episode of Our True Crime Podcast. Murder and Mystery in the Last Frontier
Murder and Mystery in the Last Frontier
Robin Barefield
The Mystery of the “A” Boats
On Valentine’s Day 1983, two new, beautiful sister ships, the Americus and the Altair sank in the Bering Sea in calm water while on their way to the king crab grounds near the Pribilof Islands. Fourteen men lost their lives in the worst disaster in the history of U.S. commercial fishing. A massive investigation ensued to determine what happened to the boats and what could be done to make commercial fishing safer.                     Those lost: The Americus: George Nations Brent Boles Larry Littlefield Rich Awes Victor Bass Jeff Nations Paul Northcutt The Altair: Ronald Beirnes Jeff Martin Lark Breckenridge Troy Gudbranson Randy Harvey Brad Melvin Tony Vienhage Sources: Much of my newsletter is based on the book Lost At Sea by Patrick Dillon. I’ve read this book three times, and I highly recommend it. Dillon extensively researched the losses of the Americus and Altair. He talked to fishermen, families of those lost, investigators, marine architects, and many other experts and observers. He tells a heart-felt and fact-filled story, not only about the “A” boats but about the commercial fishing industry and the politics of commercial fishing in the early 1980s. There’s so much more in his book than I’ve told you here, and if you’re like me, you won’t be able to put it down once you start reading it.
