Episode 13 You’ve Got Mail, Colonel Brandon!
It's an extra large episode of Ents and Sensibility! As host Casey Meserve interviews the production crew of Rational Creatures, the hit YouTube show based on Jane Austen's Persuasion. The show completed Season 2 in the autumn of 2022, and we talk about casting, filing the show and the crew's first Austen-influenced show The Lizzie Bennet Diaries.
Then we dive into Chapter 13 of Sense and Sensibility as the Dashwood girls prepare for an adventure to a posh country estate nearby. But will they go or will a letter that just came in for Colonel Brandon ruin everything?

Episode 12: A Horse By Any Other Name

In Chapter 8, Marianne can't understand how Colonel Brandon could possibly be in love with her considering his advanced age of 35. But she's far more worried about Elinor's lack of concern over Edward's nonappearance.

Episode 7 Party All the Time
In Chapter 7 of Sense and Sensibility, the Dashwoods have dinner with the Middletons, who always play the hosts, but definitely aren't the life of the party. The ladies meet the Middletons' visitors, an old lady and a middle aged man. Marianne piano playing earns attention from an unlikely source.
We read one of Jane's letters to Cassandra about early spring, hot weather and Jane's excitement over the publishing of her first novel.

Episode 6 Programmed for Etiquette and Protocol
The Dashwood women make their melancholy journey to Devonshire but are pleasantly surprised when they get to Barton Cottage. They finally meet their landlord, the anti-John Dashwood, and his wife, who resembles a certain golden droid.
In the Janeites and the Critics, we meet one of Austen's earliest, and most famous, or perhaps infamous fans.
