On the night of April 26th 2014, Marcus Kaarma and his wife Janelle Pflager were watching a movie together at home. The couple had been under stress in recent weeks after a number of attempted break-ins. They had taken precautionary measures to try and stop the burglaries. While sitting together their phone lit up, the motion detectors in the front garden picked up someone on their property. They anxiously watched the monitor as the person walked into their open garage. Markus picked up his shot gun and headed out the front door while his wife said “Showtime”.
