From age 15, Ray started an Apprenticeship at the Royal Naval Shipyard in Chatham. During every workday, he was consistently exposed to asbestos â an everyday hazard. As Ray says, âit was impossible to avoid.â Although Ray was the one working at the job site, health and safety doesn't just stop when someone leaves work. As we all know what we do inside of work, can impact us outside of work which is where Ray's wife, Mavis comes in.
