Bret Schanzenbach recently spoke with the Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation’s CEO, Lisa Cannon-Rodman, and its COO, Samantha Richter, on the Carlsbad People, Purpose, and Impact Podcast.
Originally founded in 1990, the Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation began with a passionate group of Carlsbad citizens who wanted to ensure that the lagoon was protected and everyone could accessibly enjoy its beauty.
Today, the Foundation holds true to its mission to inspire people through education and outreach to preserve the lagoon as a healthy and accessible watershed.
Lisa and Samantha spearhead various operations to preserve the lagoon and its surrounding trails, as well as engage the community through restoration projects, the Discovery Center, after-school programs, and community-wide events. In this episode, Bret, Lisa, and Samantha talk about how the lagoon brings people together, encourages them to preserve nature, and catalyzes educational opportunities for children through the Discovery Center’s animal encounters. Take a listen to discover the exciting opportunities and events they have in store for 2022!Interview Links Imagine Podcasting’s website.
