On this episode we go searching for a little Ginspiration, so of course we had to bring gin lover and master distiller Marsh Mokhtari from Gray Whale Gin. We talk through all of the methods of creating gin, from the botanicals to the steeping process, as well as what the term Navy Strength means. We also had a fantastic flight of gin that was entirely from California, so we had Junipero Gin from Hotaling Distilling, Old Harbor Distilling’s San Miguel Gin, Re-Find Gin, Blinking Owl’s Barrel Vacationed Gin, St. George’s Dry Rye Reposado, and Gray Whale’s Gin as well, batch 007. It was a wonderfully diverse lineup, no two were remotely the same despite being all from the same state.
