After struggling to conceive for four years, Gemma conceived her first child Flynn through IVF. Her second son Arti was also conceived with the help of IVF so it was a complete surprise and shock when Gemma fell pregnant with her daughter naturally. Gemma suffered from Hyperemesis Gravidarum in her previous pregnancies; however, this time, it was much worse. She found it incredibly difficult to care for her 2 and 4-year-olds and her husband had to take over their care while she was forced to stay in bed. Despite her HG Gemma went on to have a magical water birth under the care of midwives. She used Hypnobirth Australia tracks to remain calm and focused, and she loved her birth. To hear Gemma’s story tune into this week’s show.

A Very Ultra Summer With... Mavournee Hazel
Hello angels. In the latest installment of our #VeryUltra summer, we’re talking to the talented, wonderful Mavournee Hazel. Mav is, to us, the definition of ‘Very Ultra’—firstly, just, aesthetically (if you’re one of her 90,000 Instagram followers you’ll already be obsessed with her style). More importantly, she is one of Australia’s most talented young actresses, regularly dubbed ‘The Next Margot Robbie’. That’s, in part, because she had a three-year stint on Neighbours, and has recently broken out on her own starring in the critically acclaimed Aussie drama series Halifax: Retribution. Refreshingly, Mavournee says her sights aren’t necessarily set on cracking it in Hollywood—she has a long-time love of the Australian film and TV, and is passionate about supporting the local industry. She’s also an advocate for diversifying our media landscape, and—inspired by the likes of Phoebe Waller-Bridge—has aspirations to produce and direct projects about complicated female characters. Mavournee is hilarious, a total open book, and extremely candid about her own mental health struggles—we absolutely adored this conversation and can’t wait for you to listen.  This episode is bought to you by our friends at Ultra Violette, who have partnered with After Work Drinks for the whole summer. Dr Richard Harris SC OAM // A deep dive into the anaesthetist, adventurer and Australian of the Year 2019
*_RE-RELEASE - As you know, we're re-releasing a few crowd favourites from last year to keep you going during the break in case you missed them. So please ignore any time specific references, although most of our yay is evergreen so hopefully you enjoy as much as I did! _* *>> COMPLETE OUR 2021 SURV-YAY <<* **Sometimes, I choose our guests out of purely selfish curiosity to converse with a particular person regardless of whether anyone else would find them interesting, although I suspect most of you will be as fascinated by Dr Richard Harris as I am. After a random news article led me off on a multi-hour internet tangent a few weeks ago, I bought Dr Harris’ book - *Against All Odds* - and got it in my head that I HAD to talk to him and I’m so glad he kindly agreed to jump on the show. You know I get overly excited about the unique way our talents and interests can intersect to create a yay-filled life and Dr Harris (or Harry as he insists I call him) has a truly unique set of skills as an anaesthetist and technical cave diver. So unique, in fact, that he was pretty much the only person in the world equipped to help sedate and thereby save the 13 young Thai boys of the Wild Boars Soccer team who got stuck 4km into a cave in Thailand in the rainy season of 2018 (along with diving mate and co-author, Dr Craig Challen with whom he won Australian of the Year last year). I don’t think I need to say much more to explain why I’m fascinated by his story - I gush a LOT in this one but I just couldn’t fathom the enormity of the task before him the details of which definitely went over my head watching it on the news at the time. Among many other things, Harry also has his own wonderful podcast, *Real Risk**, *so was equipped with a proper mic - such a pro - I highly recommend both his book AND his podcast the latest episode off which is with legendary James Cameron of Titanic fame. Hope you enjoy! >>> *LISTEN TO THE REAL RISK PODCAST HERE* <<< + Follow *Dr Richard** *here + Announcements on Insta at *@spoonful_of_sarah* + *Join our Facebook community here* + Subscribe to not miss out on the next instalment of YAY!

Pat, Rub Or Dab? How To Actually Apply Your Skincare
Welcome to You Beauty Daily, yes, you read that correctly. Over the next 20 days, we're going to be bringing you a daily dose of You Beauty. And today, Kelly and Leigh are answering your listener questions... As much as we love our beauty sometimes, after a long day, the thought of our multiple step skincare routine is just too much to process. Leigh gives us a run through of the bare minimum regimen for those who CBF... Plus there's so much conflicting advice about application techniques for facial products, but does it really matter if we pat, rub, dab etc? Leigh and Kelly have all the answers... The list of products mentioned in this episode are below... Question 1: As icu nurses a frequent topic for me and my colleagues is managing shift work and skincare. Obviously going from awake during the day to at night messes with normal skin routines. What do you recommend to do? More importantly, what would recommend as a “finished night shift, just want to jump in to bed but should do something to my face” product? What you actually need to pack in your hospital bag (and what to expect) with midwife, Luka McCabe
Getting prepared for the hospital - what to expect and what to pack.  *Episode Notes* Beyond the Bump is a podcast brought to you by Jayde Couldwell and Sophie Pearce! A podcast targeted at mums, just like you! A place to have real conversations with honest and authentic people.  In our fifty-eighth episode of Beyond the Bump, we chat to Luka McCabe. You may already know her; she runs the page Boob to Food and we’ve had her before on the poddy. In this episode with Luka, we chat from a midwife's perspective. We talk to her all about getting prepared for the hospital, what to expect and what to pack! We hope you absolutely love this episode! If you would like to get your hands on Luka’s, ‘a midwife’s guide to packing your hospital bag’, you can download it for FREE by clicking HERE. *Goodies mentioned:* Tena and Depend adult diapers Modi Bodi  Deiji Studios Love To Dream Sleep Suit  Nutra organics bone broth Follow us on Instagram at @beyondthebump.podcast to stay up to date with behind the scenes and future episodes. This episode of Beyond the Bump is brought to you by Fisher-Price: A massive thank you for Fisher-Price’s ongoing support and sponsorships of our wonderful podcast.  For those of you who haven't listened to our bespoke five-part miniseries for Fisher-Price, head to any of the podcast apps and you can catch up on any of the Beyond Play episodes there. You will not be disappointed.   We chatted to Fisher-Price Play Lab experts during these episodes about different milestones and helpful ways to play with your children at each stage of life. We also chatted to inspirational mothers, Turia Pitt and Jacinta Franklin about all things motherhood.  My personal favourite parts were their My Kids Did What and Parenting Confession segments because it made us all feel normal when our kids completely humiliate us, or when we completely screw up as parents.   We've been super lucky to work with Fisher-Price over the last year and we've really gotten to know and love their range of amazing products.  We’d like to highlight a collection of their amazing toys they called Linkimals. They're a super cute way to teach little ones about shapes, counting colours and first words. What could be better than a kid learning to count from a sloth?  And what's better? When Linkimals animals get together, they all talk to each other. They sing, they light up. It's like a real-life Toy Story.  If you have an infant or toddler, nine months or old, Linkimals is perfect for hands-on play, helping your bubs learn shapes, colours, numbers, and so much more.  You can check out the full range of Fisher-Price Linkimals at Target.
