In today’s episode I interview Ellie Bullen about the birth of her baby boy Bowie. Ellie discovered she was pregnant sooner than she had expected however  he was a very welcomed surprise. As she was a first time mum, Ellie decided to book in with a private Obstetrician so that she could have continuity of care through a private hospital near by to her home. Ellie and her husband Alex took a private Hypnobirthing Australia course to prepare for a low intervention and relaxed water birth.   Ellie’s identical twin sister made the journey back to the Gold Coast from Bali during Covid and was required to isolate in a hotel for 14days when she arrived. Ellie was able to drop off parcels and wave to her from outside and they both crossed their fingers that Ellie wouldn't go into labour early.    To hear more about how Elli’s birth unfolded, tune into this week’s episode.

The Final Meltdown
Hands up who wants to hurriedly push 2020 out the door like it's some long lost Uncle who gatecrashed your Christmas party, insulted and traumatised your guests, and sneezed all over your food. We're gonna assume most of you raised your hands so fast that you pretty much punched the sky in your haste to confirm that we is all well and truly done with this dumpster fire of a year. As this will be our final episode of Emsolation for the year, Em and Michael have a bunch of stuff they wanna work through before they bid you bye bye. First up, they'll tackle the backlash Lizzo is receiving for promoting a 10 day smoothie detox that she's just completed on Instagram. Em and Michael also wanna talk about how the debut novel from a new feminist author called Florence Given, has been completely derailed, after a one time friend of Florence accused her of ripping off Black women's work for her book 'Women Don't Owe You Pretty'. Then it's time to grab a large popcorn, a choc top and a stupidly large fizzy drink, and settle into your recliner for the greatest story ever told. Em is ready for the tea to be spilled as she runs us through what she's calling 'The Final Meltdown'. This ain't no movie, it's not a musical, a book, or even a song, although it probably could be turned into all of those things, nope 'The Final Meltdown' is what Em is calling what went down when the whole year just came up and hit her in the face during her family beach holiday. Basically, Em just let her family know ALL the things they'd done during the year, that made her feel unappreciated. Em is describing it as The Greatest Tale that she's ever told, she even likens herself to being a Slow Cooker. Finally, we wrap things up on some fun, with a Michael Lucas Madonna quiz, which we're pretty much doing just so we can really illustrate how deep Michael's complete obsession for Madge is. We also wanna thank everyone for coming along on this hilariously hectic and glitter stuffed ride, we promise there's more of that to come in 2021 and we're sending podcast hugs to you and yours. Dr Richard Harris SC OAM // A deep dive into the anaesthetist, adventurer and Australian of the Year 2019
*_RE-RELEASE - As you know, we're re-releasing a few crowd favourites from last year to keep you going during the break in case you missed them. So please ignore any time specific references, although most of our yay is evergreen so hopefully you enjoy as much as I did! _* *>> COMPLETE OUR 2021 SURV-YAY <<* **Sometimes, I choose our guests out of purely selfish curiosity to converse with a particular person regardless of whether anyone else would find them interesting, although I suspect most of you will be as fascinated by Dr Richard Harris as I am. After a random news article led me off on a multi-hour internet tangent a few weeks ago, I bought Dr Harris’ book - *Against All Odds* - and got it in my head that I HAD to talk to him and I’m so glad he kindly agreed to jump on the show. You know I get overly excited about the unique way our talents and interests can intersect to create a yay-filled life and Dr Harris (or Harry as he insists I call him) has a truly unique set of skills as an anaesthetist and technical cave diver. So unique, in fact, that he was pretty much the only person in the world equipped to help sedate and thereby save the 13 young Thai boys of the Wild Boars Soccer team who got stuck 4km into a cave in Thailand in the rainy season of 2018 (along with diving mate and co-author, Dr Craig Challen with whom he won Australian of the Year last year). I don’t think I need to say much more to explain why I’m fascinated by his story - I gush a LOT in this one but I just couldn’t fathom the enormity of the task before him the details of which definitely went over my head watching it on the news at the time. Among many other things, Harry also has his own wonderful podcast, *Real Risk**, *so was equipped with a proper mic - such a pro - I highly recommend both his book AND his podcast the latest episode off which is with legendary James Cameron of Titanic fame. See links below! Hope you enjoy! >>> *LISTEN TO THE REAL RISK PODCAST HERE* <<< + Follow *Dr Richard** *here + Announcements on Insta at *@spoonful_of_sarah* + *Join our Facebook community here* + Subscribe to not miss out on the next instalment of YAY!

Beyond The Bump
We're back! - talking Christmas with kids, childcare, school holidays and so much more!
Beyond The Bump is a podcast brought to you by Jayde Couldwell and Sophie Pearce! A podcast targeted at mums, just like you! A place to have real conversations with honest and authentic people. Welcome back to Beyond The Bump. We’re so excited to have you here!  In our fifty-seventh episode, we start off by chatting about our Chrissies and New Years. We then talk about everything from school holidays, daycare, and potty training to 2021 goals, mental health and postnatal depression.  We hope you absolutely love this episode! This episode of Beyond the Bump is brought to you by Fisher-Price: A massive thank you for Fisher-Price’s ongoing support and sponsorships of our wonderful podcast. For those of you who haven't listened to our bespoke five-part miniseries for Fisher-Price, head to any of the podcast apps and you can catch up on any of the Beyond Play episodes there. You will not be disappointed.  We chatted to Fisher-Price Play Lab experts during these episodes about different milestones and helpful ways to play with your children at each stage of life. We also chatted to inspirational mothers, Turia Pitt and Jacinta Franklin about all things motherhood. My personal favorite parts were their My Kids Did What and Parenting Confession segments because it made us all feel normal when our kids completely humiliate us, or when we completely screw up as parents.  We've been super lucky to work with Fisher-Price over the last year and we've really gotten to know and love their range of amazing products.  We’d like to highlight a collection of their amazing toys they called Linkimals. They're a super cute way to teach little ones about shapes, counting colors and first words. What could be better than a kid learning to count from a sloth? And what's better? When Linkimals animals get together, they all talk to each other. They sing, they light up. It's like a real-life Toy Story. If you have an infant or toddler, nine months or old, Linkimals is perfect for hands-on play, helping your bubs learn shapes, colors, numbers, and so much more. You can check out the full range of Fisher-Price Linkimals at Target. Follow us on instagram at @beyondthebump.podcast to stay up to date with behind the scenes and future episodes.
