From Bullying to Inclusivity: The Power of Connecting with Your Inner Child and Embracing Neurodiversity
Welcome to the show. In todays episode I talk with Michelle Markman about everything from bullying to inclusivity to finding your inner child and being happy again.
In this day an age, as we grow older we let go of our youngerself as we enter the world. We forget what it is like to have fun again. We get frowned on when we play a game we like, because were older. Were told people our age shouldn't be playing games.
Why should we recoonect with our inner child:
* Reconnecting with our inner child and embracing neurodiversity can help us tap into our innate creativity, curiosity, and empathy, and rediscover the joys and passions we may have lost along the way.
* By embracing our unique strengths and differences, we can cultivate a deeper sense of self-acceptance, self-esteem, and belonging, and learn to appreciate and celebrate the diversity of others.
* Additionally, by promoting autism inclusivity and neurodiversity in our communities, we can create more supportive and empowering environments for people with autism and other neurodivergent conditions, and foster a culture of kindness, respect, and empathy that can facilitate authentic connections and friendships.
We talk a little about bullying and Michelle has two differernt ways of dealing with bullies.
* Either ignore them
* Say "So What"
These are two great things to do. This is because you're not giving the satisfaction of a response or saying "So What" just means you don't care enough.
We talk about how to make friends, one of the most important things she says to do is join a club, of your interest, this way you have so many people with the same interest.
Here are some ways to help you make friends
* Reflect on your values, interests, and passions, and try to find communities and social activities that align with them. This can help you connect with others who share your worldview and experiences, and facilitate more meaningful conversations and interactions.
* When interacting with others, try to focus on listening actively, showing empathy, and being non-judgmental. This can help create a safe and welcoming space for both yourself and others, and foster a sense of mutual understanding and respect.

Affordable Living

Finding Love on the Spectrum
Hello have you every wonder what it is like to find love, especially if you are someone who is on the spectrum. Well my guest did just that.
You may not recognize his name but if you are a fan of the show Love on the Spectrum, you will know the name David Isaacman. He was one of the cast member of Love on the spectrum. In this show I talk with him and his sister Alison about what it was like being on the spectrum, what it was like to find the one and what his life was life before and after the show aired.
I also talk with his sister Alison and find out what she has leaned from her brother and now star of Love on the spectrum.
David is such a amazing inspiration for those out there, with his work out routine and his now dating life. Davids advice to those looking for love are

Justice for Disabilities
In this episode of Inside the Aspergers Studio I talk with John LaMantia of the law firm Wais, Vogelstein, Forman, Koch & Norman. They deal individuals and families who are victims of birth injuries from medical negligence. Their clients deal with permanent cognitive and developmental disabilities, I will ask him do some of his clients think that these injuries cause their child to have Autism.

Diagnosed late in life
In my next episode, I talk with Amy O'keeffe who is from Ireland and going for her Archaeology PhD from Trinity College. We talk about what it was like for her to be diagnosed late in life as recent as this February with not only ASD and ADHD but also Fibromyalgia.
We talk about how she deals with her ADHD during her studies, and what challenges she has faced knowing what she has. She talks about how Ireland is with disability how one minute they can award a student with a disability grant and than take it away from them, we also talk about how challenging it was for a lot of students to study during Covid and how a lot of students really missed out and lost out.

A Helping Hand in Canada
Are you someone who lives in Canada who has a child who is on the spectrum and looking for help. Well my next guest is Priya Tronsgard who lives in Canada, and is mom of two children of two on the spectrum. She has also foudned a tutoring agency called Edify Learnign Spaces. They are Canada’s leading tutoring agency for neurodivergant kids she is also a author of a book called Radically Reframing: Three Principles for a Happy Neurodivergent Family. She is also a advocate for Austism as well.

In this episode, I talk with Lauren Bacon Smith who is the Chief People Officer of Enabled Intelligence.
Enabled Intelligence is a new start-up company in DC that has a integrated work force and a different way interview their prospectus employees.
They have the standard application, but they look beyond the resume or your background. What they are more interested in, is you knowledge and background with computers. They don't interview they employees like normal companies do, they don't ask the traditional questions, they don't ask questions at all.
What they do is they get to you, and find out what you are capable of. Also you are sent a aptitude test to see what you can and can not do.
They make their employees feel welcome and have things for those who are autistic feel more comfortable like, sensory inclusive rooms and have parties for them and much more.

Autism ouside the Box
In this episode I talk with child psychologist Dr. Shoshana Levin Fox about how she diagnoses and treats children with ASD differently than do most practitioners.
We discuss the methods she uses to assess children, such as DIRFloortime, and some unique terms, such as Islets of Normalcy, derived from her work of 25 years at the Feuerstein Institute in Jerusalem.
In her view, many children today are actually misdiagnosed as autistic. They often have other kinds of developmental challenges which are overshadowed by the autism diagnosis. In our talk Shoshana explains how she works to detect these other developmental challenges. There are key tips for parents, too.

Tim is not your ordinary person, Tim was diagnosed with ASD late in life which has helped answer a lot of questions. Tim has even gone to vocal coach to help him lower his voice. Is ABA Thearpy right for you child?
In this episode, I talk with Melissa Schiefelbein who is a board certified Behavior Analyst. We talk about why she deiced to become a behavior analyst working with ABA. She talks about how she quit her job to help her son, who is on the spectrum and started out as non-verbal and now he is talking and doing great in school.
We talk about why people are so fearful of ABA and what can be done to take away those fears. Most of she says that it is not for everyone and that before you choose a ABA therapist you need to do your research.

Have you ever thought you were in the wrong body, and wanted a change. Well my next guest Evan felt that way. Evan knew early on that he was in the wrong body so he decied to chnage from a female to male which makes him a transgendered male not only that, he is also on the spectrum.
In this episode we get to know him on a deeper level. We find out he wanted to be a EMT, and that when he went to be come a EMT he enjoyed the classes. But he had a tough time later on. So he decied to start his own business selling bandanas for on Etsy

Season 2: Episode 4 - Neurodiverse Life Coach
In this episode of Inside the Asperger's Studio, I talk with Anna Granata. A Neurodiverse life coach. In this episode we tackle many things that have to do with ADHD as well a bit of ASD.
Anna shares with me, that if you have either ASD or ADHD you most certainly have the other, and this has shown up with numerous clienrts of hers. She also mentions that ADHD is one of the main causes of low self-esteem. Anna also shares with us that she herself has ADHD and Dyslexia and how she deals with it on a daily biases.
Anna also talks about what a normal session is like for her clients and how long they normally run for. She says that she has clients who have come in with one or the other, to only find out that they have both and it's like a light bulb going off to discover that have had both ADHD and ASD and just finding out know.

We talk about how he got into meditation and how meditation can help those of us with stress, and anxiety. We talk on how important it is to quiet the mind to help with things like racing thoughts and how breath properly and what the proper way is to meditate, sit vs laying down.

Dr Navana, had me go through a exercise where I went into a meditative state to find the what emotion is bothering, and try to come to terms with it. This way your not fighting it you are working with it.
We talk about her personal experiences and what brought her to the path she is on right now. She talks about how everyone is has a one of the four Earth elements assigned to them: Earth, Air, Water and Fire and said I was a combination of two, I don't remember which two I was.

Life Changes

He took mattes into his owns hand with his mother being his support. He found the right school and made the right friends and got involved in sports.
He has been invited to trvael to Isreal to play Lacross because they felt he was that good. To know assitant coaching at a local college.

Dealing with ADHD
I talk with Anais who is a podcaster of not one podcast, but three of them..
They are How To Relationship Podcast, Musecast (Where she talks about her Favorite band), and Quarantined Happy Hour.
We talk about things like, when she was diagnosed, how she handles her ADHD, how she deals with impulsivity when shopping, she also give some great tips on how do deal with it. Also we talk about how her ADHD always makes her feel she is on the move and how she has a millions things to do.
She mentions that she isn't taking any meds yet, but we talk about Adderall has affected me and helped, we also talk a bit on depression and how she says that seeing a therapist is a big help,
