Just about half-way though the summer and it’s been pretty mental so far. Dublin Pride was, as always, great fun and I had one of the best nights back behind the decks in The George. It was a brilliant night and I could have played for about three more hours given half the chance. Thanks to team George for having me back and thanks to everyone I saw, drank with, stayed with, waved at, danced and laughed with for making it a great weekend.
Since the last mix I’ve moved house again. I know, I move more often than someone in witness protection. Eh, wait. Forget I said that. Living a tiny bit further West than before but it means longer walks to work which are helping my quest for a better level of fitness. I’ve also gone a bit mad for spinning lately. I know, I should be committed but it’s a torture that I kind of love.
Anyway, this mix is somewhat of a departure for me. It’s hard to describe but it almost starts of pretty calm yet sure of itself; it knows where it wants to go. It picks right up and glides into the summer favourites pretty quickly and I’m pretty proud of it. Even if there is a little glitch just as Sia starts singing into the wall.
Watch out for the Duke Dumont track “Won’t Look Back” which is honestly one of the greatest tracks I’ve heard in years. The beat, the vocal, the arrangement and the mix are all just perfect. Turn that one up extra loud.
As always, hope you enjoy it. Spread it around. Tell your mates, tell your ma, tell your gym/running/spinning buddies and anyone who’ll listen.
