Season 2, Episode 5: Finding Your Fertility When You Have Endometriosis w/Lizzie Alexander, PhD
Play • 53 min

Fertility issues are very common for women these days, but what happens if you have the added layer of endometriosis?

For those that don't know, endometriosis is a condition where the  uterine lining grows outside of the uterus (when it should only be  inside of the uterus) and causes an incredible amount of pain both  during a woman's period and ovulation, and for some women, throughout  the month.

In today's interview, I chat with Lizzie Alexander, PhD, who is The Endo Fertility Specialist. She works with  women who have endometriosis who have struggled to get pregnant by  getting to the root issues at play.

We cover:

*How to get diagnosed with endometriosis (it often takes YEARS, and  Lizzie shares with us how to cut that time way down)

*Exactly how endo inhibits fertility

*How inflammation is at the center of endometriosis, and what you can do  about it

*What hormones are at play, and what hormone testing can help

*She shares her story of successfully getting pregnant after waiting  over 25 years to get diagnosed with endo

This is a powerful discussion that really breaks down exactly why it's  hard to conceive if you have endometriosis. Not to mention the fact that  there are women who are having trouble conceiving that don't even realize they have endo.
