S2E2: Street Soccer Northern Ireland, with Aidan Byrne
Play • 18 min

Last December Paul travelled to Belfast where Street Soccer NI hosted a Six Nations Homeless Football tournament. Participating in the event with Northern Ireland were teams from the USA, Republic of Ireland, Scotland, Wales, and England.

He had the opportunity to sit down with Aidan Byrne, co-founder of Street Soccer NI with Justin McMinn, to discuss the history of their football programme and why football can be such a powerful tool in fighting social exclusion.

We also take a look at how Street Soccer NI operates, discuss success stories from the programme, how the 6 nations tournament came about, and what the future holds for Street Soccer Northern Ireland.
