UN Special Rapporteur calls out Walmart, Amazon, DoorDash
From The Guardian, The UN special rapporteur on extreme poverty and human rights, Olivier De Schutter, has called on the CEOs of Amazon, Walmart, and DoorDash, along with the US government, to address allegations that major US corporations pay low wages, trapping workers in poverty and forcing them to rely on government assistance programs. De Schutter's concerns center on the US minimum wage, wage theft by employers, unpredictable working schedules, the situation of undocumented workers, violation of union rights, and automation.
