Some headlines are saying that a recession is coming in 2020. Headlines do not tell the entire story especially when talking about housing and home loans. The 50th episode (a.k.a. The Golden Edition) of the Martini Mortgage Podcast is about what has happened to housing values during the recessions of the past and what the experts believe will happen to housing values if another recession rears it head.
Kevin Martini is not just the host of the Martini Mortgage Podcast, Kevin Martini is the Branch Manager and Senior Mortgage Strategist of the Martini Mortgage Group at Benchmark Mortgage and has been helping families in Raleigh and all over North Carolina with trusted mortgage advice since 2006.
What is a recession? Simply put, a recession is a temporary economic slow down. The key word is temporary! A recession is part of a normal economics cycle - there should never be a question of ‘IF’ a recession will happen, because it will happen. In fact, some recessions happen and they are over before we even know it started.
IMPORTANT: Recession does not me there is going to be another Great Recession. Recession does not mean housing crisis either.
It is natural to make an assumption that the last recession, the great recession, will be what the next recession will look like. The great recession impacts a ton of families however statistically it will not be and one can say there is a potential the next recession could happen and it be over before anyone even realized it was a recession.
The 50th episode of the Martini Mortgage Podcast will not just talk about the headlines but go into the story and share the facts and what experts have actually said.
