3. DACA Update: New Applications are now being accepted!
On this episode, Attorney Ebony Anuforo discusses the current update to the DACA programs and how a federal judge has ordered USCIS to start accepting new DACA applications, despite the Trump Administration's attempt to halt the programs. Ebony discusses who may qualify for DACA, the benefits and the eligibility requirements which include:
(1) Have been under the age of 31 as of June 15, 2012, (2) Have entered the U.S. before you turned 16 years old, (3) Have continuously resided in the U.S. since June 15, 2007 up to the present time, (4) Have been physically present in the U.S. on June 15, 2012 and at the time you are applying for DACA, (5) Have had no lawful status on June 15, 2012, (6) Currently enrolled in school (or have returned to school), graduated, obtained certificate of completion (e.g. GED) OR be an honorably discharged U.S. veteran, and (7) Have not been convicted of a felony offense, a significant misdemeanor offense, multiple misdemeanor offenses, or otherwise pose a th…
