In his only season at Incarnate word he lead the school on its deepest playoff run ever, one game shy of the FCS National Championship Game. He threw for 60 touchdowns & ran for 11 more. He spoke on the pro style concepts of the UIW offense and how the production isn’t due to gimmicks or a multitude of bubble screens. FCS Second-Team All American Linebacker/nickel Marte Mape of Sacramento State is from Hawthrone, Calif, attended Hawthrone high & also won Big Sky Defensive Player of the Year. Mape spoke on what it means to be one of the few players from Hawthorne to make it this far to Pasadena & the NFL in general. He also stated why so many kids from Hawthrone don’t go to Hawthrone High & how local kids branch out & go other places. He finished up with a look back on his Sacramento State career & how he’s handling defensive adjustments throughout the week.
