50. Menopause & Perimenopause: weight gain, hot flashes, insulin resistance with Hillary Wright
While the average age of menopause is 51, many of the changes women experience start 6-10 years earlier during those peri-menopausal years. In this episode Dr. Jo interviews Hillary Wright, one of the co-authors of the book, Menopause Diet Plan. Hillary will discuss how to deal with weight gain, belly fat, insulin resistance, brain fog, and hot flashes.
Hillary Wright is a registered dietitian with over 30 years of experience as a nutrition educator, writer, speaker and consultant. Hillary is the Director of Nutrition Counseling for the Domar Center for Mind/Body Health at Boston IVF in Waltham, MA, one of the largest fertility treatment practices in the United States. She also works part time as a Senior Nutritionist at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, MA. She’s also the author of three books, The PCOS Diet Plan, The Prediabetes Diet Plan, and her latest, The Menopause Diet Plan (co-authored with Liz Ward).
