#EURegionsWeek Talks with Eduardo Rodrigues, AMP
In our special edition podcast episode dedicated to #EURegionsWeek taking place on 9 to 12 October 2023 in Brussels, we had an insightful conversation with Eduardo Vitor Rodrigues, President of Porto Metropolitan Area, a Portuguese region participating at the event for the first time.
During our discussion, President Rodrigues emphasized the importance of continuously addressing poverty and unemployment. However, he also stressed the need to broaden our perspective on social cohesion, saying "it extends beyond these challenges and encompasses our approach to cultural policies and tourism. We must think about how to not only draw people to the city centers of Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia but also encourage them to explore and experience the entire Metropolitan area".
