It is no question that diversity is a huge part of our world. We each possess a unique perspective, and in this episode, we have open discussions as to what diversity really means. How can we learn to appreciate and protect diversity? Which diverse part of yourself are you most proud of? What challenges related to diversity have you faced? Listen to students discuss these complex questions and more. Also, learn about the NABS Diversity and Inclusion Committee and how you can become involved. Taking The Stage - Participating in Performing Arts as a Blind Student
Have you ever considered taking a dance class, starring in your school’s theater production, tackling a solo in a band/choir, or performing in some other way? Maybe, you are already an experienced performer who loves to hear stories from other students who are just as passionate about the performing arts as you are. In this episode of the NABS Now Podcast, we dive into the world of performing arts. Whether it is music, dance, or theater, special guests Elizabeth Rouse, DJ Robinson, and Francesco Magisano share their experiences performing and ways to maximize accessibility within performing arts for blind students. Later, we hear from Juli McGinnity stars information about the Performing Arts Division of the National Federation of the Blind.

Planting the Seed: All About STEM
Many students find the prospect of studying science, technology, engineering, or mathematics rather daunting. However, with the propper accommodations and determination, blind students are succeeding in STEM fields all across the country and later establishing meaningful STEM careers. Special guests Mausam Mehta, Seyoon Choi, Chancey Fleet, and Kathryn Webster cover everything from obtaining the accommodations right for you to using creativity when solving access issues. Furthermore, through personal anecdotes, they offer advice fto those students who are concerned about committing to STEM, fearing the challenges it may present.

A Trip Across the Globe
Colleges across the country are expanding study abroad programs offered to students, with some schools going as far as requiring that students take part in a studying abroad trip. Studying abroad offers a unique cultural experience that extends far beyond the realm of a traditional classroom. However, as a blind student, it can be tricky to know where to start. Panelists Johna Wright, Precious Perez, and Katelyn Macintyre have studied across the globe in Germany, Africa, and many places in between. They offer helpful insights about enrolling in a study abroad program and ensuring that the courses and excursions are accessible to you. Furthermore, they offer advice on making the most of your time in another country, creating memories that last a life time.

Legislation 101
Advocacy for legislation is a driving force in enacting powerful change and equality for all those who are blind. With Washington Seminar quickly approaching, students Kenia Flores and Justin Salisbury share their thoughts on the importance of advocating for legislation as a student. We know that this may seem daunting at first, but we offer some tips for students who wish to gain more experience.
