Episode 35: KC Elkins

KC is a painter and custom motorcycle builder. I met KC racing in the Kentucky cross-country series. We talk about his transition from motocross to woods racing, his early life in motorcycles in rural Kentucky, and how a myriad of odd jobs led into working in a shop with his dad. He tells me about what all goes into custom paint, including his personal "style" of painting. I ask him about his approach to custom bike builds, and his favorite projects. He gives me a few tips on how to keep track of a motorcycle when it's completely in pieces. We talk about his favorite motorcycle shows and what makes shows special. We cover the list of bikes that are in his garage, as he doesn't sell many of his motorcycles. He tells us a story about winning a brand new BMW in a contest, along with some anecdotal jokes about engineering. Along with who knows what else.
