Part 2: Katie and “The Boys”
Play • 41 min

Part 2, "Katie and 'The Boys,'" shows that Katharine Wright was an indispensable member of the Wright family team. After Wilbur's death in 1912, she was instrumental in helping Orville wind down and ultimately sell the Wright Company. In the process, she steered the surviving Wright Brother into his emeritus role as the elder statesman of American aviation. Dramatic readings from Katharine's letters are interwoven with the voices of scholars, historians, family members, and other interpreters, who offer their own illuminating perspectives on Katharine and her times.
