Myriam Glez is a former synchronized swimmer who competed in the Olympics for both France and Australia. She didn’t peek there, she’s on Play It Forward presented by PeacePlayers, now! The social justice podcast is hyped to continue its long swimming tradition of having Olympians join to discuss their personal journeys and transitions from competitive sport to everyday life. Myriam shares with our hosts her experiences in synchronized swimming both in and out of the pool, the lack of diversity in synchronized swimming, the athlete's journey, and how that journey can often contribute to a crisis of identity when transitioning out of the sport. You’ll also hear one of our more heated Lightning Rounds, where Myriam tells us precisely what she thinks of the question, “Art Museums or History Museums!”
