Day 20. Supporting the arts in U.S. communities
“It'll be interesting to see how patterns of giving in the arts in the future change over time and whether it will change over time in the US, since that formed so much of the US support system for the arts very well. One thing that we've started to hear is other countries […] asking to learn more about our philanthropic model, because, of course, in other countries where they've had budget cuts from a centralized arts support system, they've had to look to ways to stimulate donations and to cultivate that. And of course, we have a tax code that helps us in this case to incentivize charitable donations to the arts.”
