Play • 30 min

On this episode, Jon Maddux sits down with FundLoans' Chief Appraiser, Don Lowe. FundLoans recruited Don to assemble and oversee a panel of appraisers to ensure the highest quality appraisal when working with FundLoans.

The two discuss what it was like being an appraisal during the “Glory Days,” why there may be a large disparity on luxury home values, why you don’t want to be cheap on your appraisal, appraisal fraud, how to successfully craft an appraisal rebuttal, and last but not least, what to do when your appraisal comes in below value!

Don Lowe was raised in North San Diego County, attended San Diego State University, and has been a certified residential real estate appraiser in the state of California since 2004.

Don has performed over 10,000 residential real estate appraisals in San Diego County for a variety of clients and home values with the majority of his experience being high-end, complex residential properties; including waterfront, equestrian and rural properties with values up to $25 million.

In addition to his experience with San Diego, Don has extensive knowledge of Orange County, Riverside, and Los Angeles markets and has completed a myriad of assignments include bulk appraisal reviews for investors, divorce assignments, expert witness testimony, and estate residential appraisals.
