Doc & Son Episode 48: Son Goes Solo #9
Greetings, fellow listeners. I fly solo for the ninth time (I said tenth in the recording) as I ask you to bear with me while I keep posting more episodes without an exact outline just to have enough before the end of the year and hear me tune out to "She's Leaving Home" by the Beatles. Go watch "Dune", in theaters everywhere and streaming on HBO Max.

Listen to how I have every right to say whatever I want and I don't care whether people like it or not and how I'm desperate to have famous people on my pod and not just ordinary people. Hear it all while Duke is licking my face. Dogs are cute. So if you love dogs licking your face, please listen to the rest of the episodes.

Doc & Son Episode 44: What Do I Want?
Greetings, fellow listeners. Doc returns to ask me a series of questions concerning my retreat from the public and occasional ventures at night like a vampire, my decision to be in pajamas all day and lie in bed until I drown in a pile of my own feces, and what I choose to do with the continuation of my existence on this planet. Say whatever you want about me and how I'm living, I don't give a damn.

Doc & Son Episode 43: Son Goes Solo # 7 (also paranoid)
Greetings, fellow listeners. Once again, I go solo for the seventh time even though Doc has returned. Just like two previous solos, I'm back into full Bill Burr mode as I ramble on how I almost got myself killed and why I'm backing out of celebrating Doc's birthday. Please listen to the episodes, people. I almost died so give me a break.

Doc & Son Episode 41: Simon Says
Greetings, fellow listeners. With Pops away at work once again, Mom fills in for co-hosting duties. We socialize with our sixteenth official guest who I've known for almost only 3 weeks: Simon Rengifo, who I met at Hole in the Wall on 9/11 and became instant friends when I walked him home after he got extremely hammered. Listen to Simon say what he's doing to make a living in Miami after coming down from Canada, what he plans to do after taking 6 years of business entrepreneurship at MDC, how we both love and admire the hit series "Breaking Bad", and hear him elaborate on wise sayings with his philosophical and existential knowledge. If y'all need some daily wisdom, do tune out to the wisely words of the thoughtful podcast "May I Elaborate? Daily Wisdoms from J.B. Smoove".

Doc & Son Episode 39: Friend of the Fam
Greetings, listeners. I have a very stretchy and ponderous conversation with our fifteenth official guest: family friend Miriam Cuperman. Listen to her talk to me about her prosperous career as a hard-working dancer and choreographer in the entertainment business, laboring and loving Dalmatians, teaching Frodo and Samwise how to salsa during the making of Fellowship, getting the pants scared off of her by Saruman, her views on how the entertainment industry really functions, fond and unpleasant memories about the many big faces she's worked with, and how she made me realize that I'll never make it in any branch of the industry and that I should just keep on dreaming. All this while the rest of the fam (Plus Duke the Dog) joins in and drives me over the edge (I beg of thee, please keep listening so I don't have to shut down the pod).

Doc & Son Episode 38: Life of Brian (Don't Sue Me, Monty Python)
Greetings, fellow listeners. Now officially my coolest and longest interview (I'm coming for you, Rogan), I have an all-geek conversation with our fourteenth official guest: my Starbucks buddy Brian East (aka Tea Terminator). We go on for over three hours about his transformation from being fat and nerdy to fit and intellectual in the I.T. department, how we came together with green tea and coffee, our mutual love of The Boys and Community, Brian's knowledge of the MCU and DC Universe and adoration of Rick and Morty, which actor who played the Joker ranks best, and how I worry the length of this episode will bore my listeners into a coma (Note: Please don't fall asleep or skip this episode. I need more ears).

Doc & Son Episode 37: The Audition
Greetings, fellow listeners. Doc's out of town for work again, but my mom's here once more to fill in for him. We talk about my very first acting audition that I had yesterday, how it went for me and whether or not it's my vocation in life, Mom's opinion on the people who work at the talent agency I auditioned for and what she thinks about the entertainment business, and what to expect from the talent agency the next time I meet with them again tomorrow afternoon (Note: Please listen to more of the podcast. I'm desperate for listenership).

Doc & Son Episode 36: Feliz aniversario, abuelos!
Greetings, fellow listeners. Another very special episode for lots of reasons. My mom joins me this time while my dad snoozes away as we chatter with official guests twelve and thirteen, both my grandparents. My grandfather was previously on the podcast to celebrate his birthday, this time he's accompanied by his wife/my grandmother/Mom's mother Rosa Maria Olsen, to celebrate their 55th wedding anniversary. We tackle the topics of how they came together, being by each other's side for almost half a century, what good life has given them and to the family they've created, and I honor their marriage with singing "Danny's Song" by Loggins & Messina (Note: Recorded the day before the 20th anniversary of 9/11. Remember and never forget those who have fallen and those who have suffered).

Doc & Son Episode 35: The Big LeBroski
Greetings, fellow listeners. After such and long and prosperous journey, I've finally been able to bring on the one person I tried to get on since the beginning of this podcast: our eleventh official guest, my best friend Ed Gonzalez. We had a cool conversation about being homies since we were seven years old, the best things we've done throughout the years as hombres, the effects we've had on each others lives, and continuing to be broskis till the end (Be sure to catch Night Diver's upcoming EP "Good Night, Scuba Diver" this Friday on Spotify).

Doc & Son Episode 34: The Never-Known Neighbor
Greetings, fellow listeners. Today, Doc and I sit around the table and chat with our tenth official guest who is also the fourth employee from Thump Gym and Fitness that I've interviewed. He is Lorenzo "Enzo" Pineiro, Thump receptionist Clarissa Barrientos' partner, a client at Thump, who has been living in the same gated community as I have for the past ten years and I've never even known about him until now. We talk about how we've always been oblivious to each other until today, following in the family real estate business, living the Miami lifestyle, and our deep fondness of horror movies and our mutual love of the hit Netflix series "Cobra Kai". Season 4 coming soon in December and already renewed for a fifth season! COBRA KAI NEVER DIES!!!

Doc & Son Episode 33: Long Live the Podfather
Greetings, fellow listeners. Doc and I once again relieve you from your boredom with us talking to you about the excellent experience of watching none other than Joe Rogan, the Podfather himself, live last night at the BB&T Center. Hear us say how it was better than the godawful Katt Williams show I went to last week, my new work schedule and why I'm going to enjoy it, and catch an early listen of my next performance at Tea & Poets.
Aug 24, 2021
Doc & Son Episode 32: Rip-offs and Rock 'n roll
Greetings, fellow listeners. Today, my dad and I chat about how much of a miserable time I had last week when I went to see Katt Williams at the BB&T Center and it was a complete rip-off, my new guitar that I got and how I've renewed my interest in playing the instrument, and what song I'll sing tomorrow at Tea & Poets and listen to me singing them at the end of this episode. Duke the dog returns once again for a special appearance.

Doc & Son Episode 31: Baldy and Eight Ball
Greetings, fellow listeners. The podcast goes back to its original roots with me and my dad reunite to talk about my latest performance at Tea & Poets this past Wednesday and my brand new appearance with clean-shaven head and why I chose to go with it and what's everyone's opinion on it. Yes, I'm bald now so get used to it.

Doc & Son Episode 30: Happy Birthday, Grandpa!
Greetings, fellow listeners. This is a very wondrous episode for two reasons: I chat with our ninth official guest who happens to be my grandfather, Allan Olsen, and today is his 83rd birthday! I celebrate my grandpa's birthday by conversing with him on the phone about how life on earth for 83 years has treated him, what he enjoys about being alive, his roles as being the husband to my grandma, the father to my mother, and the grandfather to me and my sister and how we affect his livelihood, and why he's the greatest grandfather that ever existed and why there will never be another one like him (Special appearance by my mom who drops in to say a few gracious words to honor her dad and my grandpa).

Doc & Son Episode 29: Strangers Sipping Starbucks whilst Socializing
Greetings, fellow listeners. This is the third consecutive interview I've done this week. In what is probably my new favorite and possibly longest interview, our eighth official guest is a complete stranger. She is Emily Ruiz, a girl who I met at Starbucks just last week and is already considered my friend due to a lengthy and interesting conversation we had for over an hour. Almost as long as our previous encounter, Em and I talk about similar traits in our personalities, backgrounds alike, an equal amount of friends, our callings in life, what lies in store for our futures, and so much more hoopla that you can catch for yourself. Don't skip my big encore towards the end, it's what really makes this prolonged parley worth the listen (7 years ago today, we lost the hilarious legend, Robin Williams. May his soul keep us laughing).

Doc & Son Episode 28: Runnin' with Rene
Greetings, fellow listeners. This has to be one of the best interviews I've ever done in the podcast. I tried to keep up with our seventh official guest who is a pub bud of mine, Rene Rivero. Rene must've been vaccinated with phonograph needle because he was talking a mile a minute over the phone which made the conversation all worth the while. Try to catch up with him talking about his role as a father to a 22-month-old boy, a financial accountant, a resident in Rome, a party boy in the Windy City, a coincidental witness of Chris Farley's death scene, and a survivor to giving himself up to the catholic church. All this while shopping for diapers for his son, flowers for his girlfriend, paying his babysitter, and arriving at his girlfriend's house (Note: Slow motion may be required).

Doc & Son Episode 27: Clarissa Explains it All
Greetings, fellow listeners. I'm once again all alone in mi casa because my family is out celebrating my sister's birthday. So I decided to pass the time by conversing with our sixth official guest who is associated with guests five and four, Louis Jerez and Steve Arintok. She is Clarissa Barrientos, the receptionist at Thump Gym and Fitness and a mutual friend of mine. We had a cordial discussion over the phone about her Tucson background, her work at Thump, debating on her ethnicity, our methods of staying fit, our favorite kinds of old school rock n' roll artists, and how I inspired her to create her own podcast. Big happy 25th birthday to my sister Mariana and 27th to my friend Nico. Many more to both of you!!!

Doc & Son Episode 26: Son Goes Solo #4
Greetings, fellow listeners. I come speaking to all of you by myself from the comforts of my own room. This episode was originally supposed to be me and my dad talking about dinner we had with a friend of mine the past Thursday, but I completely lost all interest. Instead, it's just me talking about how I'm refusing to come out of my room until our maid comes back next week, my misery and suffering without our maid around, how dinner with my dad and friend went from my perspective, begging my friend to come on the podcast, an interesting girl I met at Starbucks the previous Thursday, and most of all going to the Hard Rock Live with my friend Derrick last night to see the one and only DAVE CHAPPELLE!!! (Note: Apologies to Derrick for not being able to record our talk about seeing Dave Chappelle over the phone due to inflexibility).

Doc & Son Episode 25: Boss Man
Greetings, fellow listeners. Doc's gone again, but I'm still home. I had such a swell conversation with our fifth official guest who is close with our previous guest, my personal fitness trainer Louis Jerez. The man is Steve Arintok, founder and owner of Thump Gym and Fitness and Louis' boss. Together, we spoke about his career as a mixed martial arts and boxing trainer, his early days and inspirations, him befriending star athletes, his contributions to the MMA and boxing society, his personal interests, fighting yesterday and today, and how great of a person Louis is to the both of us. Shout out to Louis and his knockout girlfriend Chelsea for recommending Steve to come on my podcast! (Note: 30 seconds halfway in the conversation is missing due to technical errors. Just fill in the blanks)

Doc & Son Episode 24: Merci beaucoup
Bonjour, collègues auditeurs. In this episode, Doc and I converse about my second comedy performance as a cheap non-stop talking mime at Tea & Poets on July 21st (dedicated to Robin Williams on what would've been his 70th birthday) and I ask of his opinion on my act and what I should do the next time I go perform. This is just the first 13 minutes of the episode. For the duration of the talk, Derrick Dyer comes back a third time and we just spew out random bull-pucky to kill time (not so worth listening to so just skip to the end). Find my next act on YouTube under the title "The Miami Mime Returns".

Greetings, fellow listeners. This episode is a double feature with my mom back for the third time and the return of my friend Derrick Dyer. Doc & Son Episode 21: Son Goes Solo #3
Happy Independence Day, fellow listeners! I once again speak to you on my own as Doc is out of town tending to those in need of medical attention. This episode is completely different because it was recorded outside from my house and in front of Starbucks Coffee at the Greenery Mall, a shopping center that's ten minutes away from where I live. I talk about the new dog we got the day before and how he'll change my life for the best, when I went to Atlanta to visit my best friend the week before and how it turned out to be a complete waste of time, and I let you know in advance that you won't be hearing from me for a few days because I'm getting all four of my wisdom teeth removed and I'll be in excruciating pain for three days. Happy Fourth of July, everybody (especially Randy Quaid). Special thanks to Nico Novoa and Fiorella Bianchi, who I met the day before at Hole in the Wall with their dogs and introduced them to my new dog. P.S., Loud noise in the background of by passers and v…

Greetings, fellow listeners. Doc's still gone, but Son's still here. Today, I myself spoke with a very special somebody who's played a major part in my fitness and well-being. He's the Cus D'Amato to my Mike Tyson, the Mickey Goldmill to my Rocky Balboa, the Mr. Miyagi to my Daniel LaRusso, and so many other mentor-protégé examples. I'm talking about our fourth official guest on the show: Louis Jerez, my personal fitness trainer of nearly 10 years. A prolong and sublime talk about Louis being my trainer for half my life, his job as a fitness trainer, his background, his sidelines, and how we've both made a difference in each other's lives. Also, a secret guest sits by and watches us in action (Chelsea Nealey, Louis' girlfriend (So nice of Louis to bring her along. My man got himself a fine one!)

Another lengthy talk about our friendship, his job as a behavioral analyst, his background, his family, his heritage, and what we've accomplished over the past two years. This is the first time we've seen each other in three months because of a complication. It's great to be friends. Also, Bill Cosby says he's having the time of his life behind bars.
