Luke Ayling: "I've got a great hairline"
Patrick ‘Bam Bam’ Bamford, Jermaine Beckford, Emma Jones and Matt Lewis are joined this week by Luke Ayling who discusses the mighty win over Manchester City, being named the worst dressed player at Elland Road, what the players really think of Pat and much, much more. And boy do we have a treat for you to end the podcast this week...you won't want to miss the last few minutes, we'll tell you that for free. Keep those questions coming using #LUFCPod.

Who did you have posters of on your wall?
Our hosts and your hosts Jermaine Beckford, Emma Jones, Patrick Bamford and Matt Lewis are back to chew the victorious fat of Leeds’s 2-1 win over Sheffield United. After the win over the Blades, Jack Harrison mentioned how a sports psychologist has helped him rediscover his form, and Pat provides an insight as to how sports psychology helps his own game. Plus the team look ahead to the upcoming clash with title chasers Man City, discussing all the key talking points from tactics to multimillion pound squads to which club has the better celeb fans. Got a question? Send it in using #LUFCPod.

How many controllers have you broken?
International break = no Leeds United games = what would we have done during a global pandemic had the domestic season not re-started? With no in-real-life games to discuss, Patrick Bamford, Emma Jones, Jermaine Beckford and Matthew Lewis catch up with Leeds’s FIFA wonderkid Olle ‘Ollelito’ Arbin, who represented the club in the recent EA Sports FIFA 21 tournament. Meanwhile, the team take a deep dive into the ongoing debate about social media and online abuse, each with their own experiences to share on a difficult subject consuming football. Let us know your thoughts using #LUFCPod.

Chewing on his Magnum stick
The band are back together as Patrick Bamford returns from his week in exile (physio) and once again takes his place alongside Matthew Lewis, Jermaine Beckford and Emma Jones. There’s discussion about the well-deserved 2-1 win over Fulham (rumours suggest Pat had an important hand in that), the thorny topic of what aftershave Stuart Dallas wears rears its head again, the guys reflect on Pat passing the 100 game mark for Leeds and there’s a great story about Ousmane Dembélé. Send your questions for the team in using #LUFCPod.

Is that a bead of sweat dripping from his forehead?
Matt Lewis, Emma Jones and Jermaine Beckford waste no time in breaking down the draw against Chelsea, as well as rifling through some of the best Raphinha chants they’ve received from listeners this week (with added questionable solos). Jermaine also opens up about adapting to life once you hang up your boots, and Matt has an excellent surprise for the rest of the gang...

With the kids beginning to return to school, Jermaine Beckford, Matt Lewis, Emma Jones and Pat Bamford reflect on their own experience in education – Pat’s non-football playing school, Jermaine navigating sometimes vicious street football matches and Matt’s balancing of his studies with a burgeoning career aged just 5. Warning: there is also discussion of the West Ham game, but the mood’s punctured by a reference to a certain primetime television presenter. Send in your chants, questions and comments using #LUFCPod.

On 7th March 2020 more than 36,000 fans piled into Elland Road for the 2-0 win over Huddersfield Town which continued the march towards promotion to the Premier League. Since then not a single fan has been back in to watch Marcelo Bielsa’s side in person. This week Patrick Bamford, Jermaine Beckford, Emma Jones and Matthew Lewis reflect on that fact as we approach the year mark since the stands fell silent. With more promising times on the horizon and a hopeful return of fans in the coming months, members of the Leeds faithful tell us what they’ve missed most and what they’re most looking forward to, from journeys to the ground to time spent with friends and family and some of the more suspect odours they now long for. Pat gives us an insight into what it’s really like playing in empty stadiums, and the team look forward to the time they can cheer on the Mighty Whites in person. Let us know what you’re most looking forward to using the hashtag #LUFCPod.

Dallas is on the Brut
Pat floats into the recording studio (his house) high on the feeling that comes with scoring against Southampton the night before as Marcelo Bielsa’s men stormed to a 3-0 win. Along Emma, Matt and Jermaine (recording from a random car park in Liverpool - we don’t know either) he breaks down a win that lifted Leeds into the top half of the Premier League. And we also delve into pre-match preparation – the weird traditions players may have, the goings on in the team hotel, why Pat smothers himself in aftershave before each game and more. Send in your questions to the guys using #LUFCPod.

Angus Kinnear: “I might actually listen to this one”
Emma, Pat, Matt and Jermaine are on their best behaviour this week as they’re joined by Leeds United CEO Angus Kinnear who shares his thoughts on the season so far, exciting plans for the future, the impact of Covid on the club and much, much more. He also has to politely tolerate Matt appointing himself Pat’s new agent and trying to hold impromptu contract negotiations. Send us all your questions and comments using the #LUFCPod hashtag.

Jermaine's Dry Sheets
It’s been a hectic run of games and Emma, Jermaine, Pat and Matt are here to dissect it all. The guys breakdown the 2-0 win over Crystal Palace, a game in which Pat scored the 100th goal of his career (though Becks and Matt are keen to ensure the episode isn’t an entire Pat-praise-fest and analyse his first-half miss too). We hear about Jermaine’s acting debut, Pat drops a language bombshell and Matt’s feeling the effects of his match viewing the night before. Plus, Pat’s been dishing out the Official Leeds United Podcast Halfway-Ish-Point-Of-The-Season Awards at Thorp Arch. Got a question for the team? Send it in using the #LUFCPod hashtag.

KP’s Hand-Me-Down T-Shirts
Unbelievably it’s the halfway point of the Premier League season, so it’s only right the guys dish out some mid-season awards. In Pat, Matt and Jermaine’s view, who has scored the best goal so far (can we forgive a certain striker for nominating himself?) and what’s been the best moment up to now? Matt has his own award to dish out too, the name of which we can’t repeat. Plus, there’s chat about the 2-1 win over Newcastle United and the guys answer some more of your questions. Send us your comments and questions using #lufcpod

Who would you trust in a Robin Reliant?
Emma, Pat, Jermaine and Matt are here to banish the memories of Blue Monday and offer us the inside scoop from Elland Road. They get the bleak stuff out the way up top, discussing the frustrating 1-0 loss to Brighton, whilst Pat shares his current (and fairly grim) Netflix fix. Emma also challenges the guys to begin piecing together their best Leeds XI of the Premier League era, beginning with strikers. Needless to say Pat and Becks do their best to ensure they’re picked... Send us your own suggestions for the XI, plus any questions you have for the guys using #LUFCPod.

Is Alioski from this planet?
Emma Jones, Matthew Lewis, Jermaine Beckford and Patrick Bamford answer some listener questions, including one fan who lets Patrick know he has, in fact, scored (twice!) in the FA Cup. The team also reflect on the role their parents and families have played in their careers, and they look ahead to the upcoming Premier League clash with Brighton. If you have a question you want to ask, remember to send it in using #LUFCPod!

Dead Rabbits and Jazz
After a slightly different festive break, Emma Jones, Matthew Lewis, Jermaine Beckford and Patrick Bamford digest the clashes against Burnley, West Brom and Spurs and what they got up to over the holidays. They also look ahead to the FA Cup third round tie with Crawley Town, a competition that has particularly fond memories for Jermaine. And whether you love it or hate it, the transfer window is now open. The guys chat through their own experiences of what it involves, from the rumour mill, the comings and goings and the friendly rivalries, as well as their favourite transfer window fall-out stories. Oh, and Patrick has a story about a rabbit. The guys will be answering your questions in next weeks’ episode so get them in using the hashtag #LUFCPod.
Dec 30, 2020
As Leeds continue their march in the Premier League, Patrick Bamford once again joins Emma Jones, Jermaine Beckford and Matthew Lewis for a chat about life at Elland Road - what it’s like when you join a new club, meeting your teammates for the first time and his targets for the remainder of the season. Chatting before the Burnley game, Patrick also divulges which teammates he’s tried to teach guitar to over WhatsApp and what his mates thought of his offer to go to Harvard University. Plus, the guys invite you to send in your questions and comments using the hashtag #LUFCPod, which they’ll try to answer over coming episodes. Thanks to everyone for all your comments and reviews about The Official Leeds United Podcast – we appreciate them all, and do keep telling everyone you know about the podcast!
