Ahrue and I have been friends for a while and share a great deal in common. Toured together and been friends for a long time. He’s an awesome guitarist and we share the joys he’s experiencing today with his brothers in Lions At the Gate. Phenomenal band. He shares their journey, early childhood influences and some cool tales and insights about the art of song and being in a band. It’s a real happy chat and I couldn’t be more happier to bring this show back with good friends.

Derek, a seasoned performer and charismatic persona offstage as he is onstage is one of the best vocalists I’ve heard in a while. His range and energy is infectious and I connected almost immediately with this Cali rocker, who hails from shredding guitar and busking on the Santa Monica pier to tearing it up with Steve Vai and even jam buddies with Stephen Perkins(Janes Addiction). Paul Miles is the co-author of “Horseshoes and Hand Grenades”, the long awaited autobiography of vocalist/songwriter John Corabi(ex Motley Crue/The Scream/Union/The Dead Daisies and more), a book that offers a first person perspective of one of rock n roll’s most underrated and inspiring artists. The book is one of 10 that Paul has released(including a Motley Crue crosswords book!), as a self published author to published with a company. His photography has taken him all over the world and backstage with some of the biggest artists in the world. The ultimate being that as a fan of Motley Crue like Paul is, has been not only writing the books and making the website he made, but also getting to travel and photograph with Motley Crue. One of the most interesting and most fascinating people I’ve ever known is Adam Cox. One time chef, one time owner of the one of the greatest record stores known to those of us fortunate and now consultant of some of the biggest corporations in the world. A man passionate about music as he is in business and cultural society. This is an engaging and as always and incredible conversation that is well worth listening to. A legendary record store and encouraging black metal enthusiasts to listen to Aphex Twin, the Australian music industry juggernaut of the 90’s vs now. Globe trotting in business and the parallels to dealing with rock stars. This is a good one I promise! Tell your friends and be sure to like and subscribe and all that cool jive. Chris Rand(Segression, Rand Tattoos, Marathon Runner, Top Bloke)
Chris Rand is one of Australia’s finest musicians of the heavy music scene and really a trailblazer for Australian music with his work in Segression. They toured with some of the biggest names in the world, including a very young Slipknot when they first came to Australia among others. They set a standard and developed a reputation for heavy grooves and music to bounce to. Chris is also a smart guy with university degrees and tattooist for the family business. In recent years, he developed a passion for running as a way to stay healthier and it turned into more, running in the Boston Marathon among other running achievements. A passionate family man, Chris is a great guy and a good friend and despite some technical issues recording, we enjoyed a great and heartfelt chat. Enjoy!

This is a great insight into the world of puppetry, as well as an inspiring tale of Brett’s humble beginnings from playing keys in one of Brisbane’s finest metal acts, Headkase, to heading to New York and learning the art of puppetry from the guys behind Sesame Street. Brett and Elissa now run a successful business making children happy with their impressive cast of puppets, including my personal favourite Trogg(who appears in the Darkcell clip “Raise Your Horns”). Producing a Happy career with acclaimed Producer/Songwriter Bob Marlette
In the 90’s, the metal god, Rob Halford teamed up with John 5(then John Lowery)and acclaimed producer/musician, Bob Marlette to make the band ‘Two’. The band recorded an extremely underrated album called “Voyeurs” with Trent Reznor(NIN) at the helm and disbanded soon after the album released and some touring. This album captivated me and the collaboration had me curious for some time. Getting a chance to talk to Bob Marlette about this album became so much more, due to his incredible career working with some of the biggest names in music, even our own John Farnham and Tonight Alive as well as Airbourne. He has worked also with Rob Zombie, Alice Cooper, Tracy Chapman, Atreyu and so many more. He’s humble, happy and full of spirit. This was a joyous chat. Enjoy!
