Lawd have mercy, Y'all. Did the Non Moms get into some real sh*t this week...
This week Debbie Jo & Kelly had the distinct honor of welcoming Dr. Froswa' Booker-Drew to the show.
Dr. Booker-Drew is the author of Rules of Engagement: Making Connections Last. This workbook (which you can buy on Amazon by clicking here) helps women understand their stories so that they can build stronger relationships. Froswa' has Ph.D. from Antioch University in Leadership and Change with a focus on relational leadership, social capital, diverse women, and their barriers to change.
Do you know what they say about well-behaved women not changing the world? Well, it's a good thing for the world that the three of us are not and never will be well-behaved. The ladies talked about nonprofit work, (white) privilege, how to be better allies and advocates -- especially in the nonprofit sector -- and bringing others to the table alongside us.
They talked about the importance of mentors in the lives of young people and even adults, especially young adults in college and graduate school. Each of the ladies shared personal experiences in professional settings and in settings as mentors and mentees. It might sound like it was all business this week but trust us, there were plenty of laughs.

Honestly, this episode is officially in Debbie Jo & Kelly's top 5 favorite episodes recorded so far. Oh! Guess what?! A Non Mom Happy Hour has it's very own theme song now! WHAT??! That's right. But you can't hear it on this episode, so if you want to hear it before next week, you'll have to hit up our Patreon support page for exclusive first access.
