(EP34) The American Dream with Conrad Lee
Play • 45 min

What is the American Dream? For Conrad Lee, it’s what he lives for every day. Since immigrating from Hong Kong over 50 years ago, he’s served in local government for over a quarter of a century! As a previous mayor and current city council member of Bellevue, WA, his desire to foster a conversation around the issues that affect us all runs deep.

Conrad shares his insights about:

  • Why many politicians have become more tepid about controversial issues
  • No one person has the solution; it takes all of us to heal our world
  • Conrad has watched the Bellevue demographic grow from a 1% minority population to over 50% “minority-majority” population
  • As the home of companies like Microsoft, T-Mobile (and very soon, Amazon!), Bellevue is a hot-spot for technology; this sets it as a world leader in positively disruptive developments

The One Thing: If there’s no dialogue around a common problem, be the one to start it.
