Play • 22 min
Rob is an experienced workplace learning and development leader, Ed-Tech business builder, instructional designer, and documentary filmmaker.  Sparked during his undergraduate film production studies, a linking theme throughout Rob’s career has been the role of media and technology as an enabler of learning. Rob has a rich and varied work history with experiences in health care, higher education, not-for-profit, and small and large private sector organizations. During the tech boom of the early 2000s, Rob held senior roles in an Ed-Tech start-up and then took on the lead of the Learning and Customer Experience practice at Maritz Canada, a US-based marketing services company. Rob has been active as a community builder, spending 10 years as a board member, board chairperson, and CEO at the Canadian Society for Training and Development – now the Institute for Performance and Learning.  Rob now consults with a wide range of organizations including universities, banks, and pharma and is an active community volunteer. Rob holds a Ph.D. in Instructional Design, Development, and Evaluation from Syracuse University and an MBA from the University of Toronto.  Support the show (
