Wednesday Lectio: Philippians 4:8-9
Play • 8 min

Today’s reading is from Paul’s letter to the Philippians, chapter 4, verses 8 and 9. As we hear it together, can I listen for what the Holy Spirit might have to say to me about goodness? Are there any words or phrases that I want to spend some time with today?

8 Finally, my siblings, always think about what is true. Think about what is noble, right, and pure. Think about what is lovely and worthy of respect. If anything is excellent or worthy of praise, think about those kinds of things. 9 Do what you have learned or received or heard from me. Follow my example. The God who gives peace will be with you.

Loving God, help us to wait for your goodness to grow in us. Help us to taste your goodness, and to always want more. And help us see your goodness all around us, because you never change. In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
