These dreams began to crystallize into brainstorming sessions with close friends and family, filling many an evening with animated conversations and fervent planning. The initial scribbles on pieces of paper started to evolve into a palpable vision, fueled by this newfound collective enthusiasm.
Fast forward to December 2022. Chrysta returns from a soul-searching trip to Cancun, where she attended “Closer to the Sun”—an event she has frequented for three consecutive years. Chase Brooks winning on purpose
Chase Brooks is a professional cowboy, from Montana, that competes in saddle bronc events at rodeos around the country. Being raised on a ranch in Montana gave Chase a look at being a cowboy from the day he was born. His decision to compete in saddle bronc was easy after spending some time on bulls. He left the bull riding up to his brother and Chase stuck with saddle bronc. 2021 was his best year, finishing 4th in the world and 2nd at the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas. Having his best NFR at the end of the year gave him a successful mindset start for 2022.

Townsend Brothers, Johnny and Tommy, are punters in the NFL and they are setting challenges for each other on and off the field. It is rare enough to have one family member playing in the NFL. The Townsend family has two members of the NFL and they happen to play the same position. Maddie Riggs is a golfer getting her professional career started after a successful run at University of California Irvine. Being an athlete at a Division 1 college is no easy feat, balancing school work and the rigors of high level athletics. Maddie was able to graduate as a two-time All American scholar and now she is excited to continue her golf journey to the professional ranks.
We had a great talk about the differences in college golf and how no longer having academics on her schedule is allowing her to stay focused on her golf game. We also talk about her obsessive compulsive habits which, at times, have made it difficult for her on the course. Maddie was brave to discuss with me her anxiety issues and how it affected her at her first qualifying school (Q School) rounds.

Anthony Watson is my guest today. Anthony is an American-born skeleton racer who competed on behalf of Jamaica in the 2018 Winter Olympics, becoming the first athlete to represent the Caribbean nation in the winter sport.

Here is my podcast with personal trainer Curtis Fisher. Curtis has 20 plus years experience training himself and others to be healthier and maintain fitness levels. He shares his story of clean bodybuilding while working a day job and raising a family. He shares his time constraints and is aware of us travelers reasons/excuses we have when we travel for our work.
I particularly like his tips for exercising on the road without going to a gym. Providing simple exercises while being based in a hotel room is essential and easy.
He also shares how to eat healthier on the road which, at least for me, is often a struggle. For me when I’m home I feel like I can control my food prep and cooking. I struggle sitting in a hotel room wondering where there are good food choices around. Curtis helps by reminding us that most restaurants have better options now and many supermarkets have deli shops and ready to eat meals inside.

Landon Turner | a successful NCAA and NFL player......now what?
My guest on today’s show is Landon Turner. He played for the New Orleans Saints the past two seasons and is now on the Carolina Panthers roster for 2019. He played college football at University of North Carolina where he played all 4 years. Landon’s senior year ended as the team captain, 1st Team All-American and he won the Jim Parker Trophy as the best offensive lineman in the country. After two years in the NFL and starting his third year for the Panthers we discussed the differences between traveling as a college player and the NFL.
We also discussed the role being a full time college athlete being a hindrance against getting job or intern experiences while in college putting the players behind their classmates that don’t have to spend so much time as an athlete.

Jake Zweig | Navy SEAL and college football coaching and mentoring Part 1
Jake Zweig is my guest on today's podcast. Jake is man who has accomplished a tremendous amount in a short time and is just now hitting his prime. Jake attended the U.S. Naval Academy where he played football and wrestled. He graduated as a commissioned officer receiving his degree in computer science.
He served for two years before reporting for Navy SEAL training where he was named the SEAL class leader. Following his SEAL training, Jake reported to SEAL Team 8 in Little Creek, VA and attained the rank of Lieutenant.
He then went on to earn his MBA from the University of Michigan.
Jake began his coaching career in 2005 when he joined the University of Maryland staff as a graduate assistant working with the Terrapin wide receivers. He has since worked as an assistant coach at several colleges and is now working at the University of Illinois as their Special Teams Analyst.
