Limelight Highlight "Happy Holiday News" *50*
This episode is all about happy holiday news. A man named Adam Armstrong grew up in a poor and poverty stricken neighborhood. He then moves and becomes a philanthropist and decides to visit his old neighborhood to bring gifts and joy to the underprivileged children living there. A perfect example of paying it forward. We also had a great story of how a man named Amarildo Silva finds a useful and creative way to recycle tires that were littering the streets of his neighborhood in Brazil. He would take the old tires clean them up and create comfortable pet beds. This story was shared with us by Amanda Kim a friend and listener of the podcast. A company started by a father of 5 who's first born was diagnosed with (SMA) Spinal Muscular Atrophy at 9 months old. He surprised everyone in attendance by announcing that he would provide them with a grant to eliminate the student debt of the entire class of 2019. Now that's paying it forward. Our second story is about a woman named Shirley Raines, a 51-year-old mother of 6. She feeds, and helps the homeless women of Skid Row in Long Beach, California by providing them with showers and make overs. For many of us, our self-esteem comes from our appearance, and Shirley provides these people with something they can be proud of by looking in the mirror. It goes a long way.

Happy Cinco De Mayo! I hope everyone had a safe holiday. On this episode of the podcast we discuss something that I find very interesting and important to the world. We discussed "The Ocean Clean Up" company. Forbes had an article that I came across thanks to the lovely Arlene Sanchez who happens to be my wife. I got sucked in the moment I began reading the article. The goals of this company and how they want to rid the ocean of plastic trash is my favorite thing about it. In the article it discusses a U shaped floating boom system that collects trash to be picked up and it doesn't even use fuel or anything harmful to the environment. Tech companies have been financially backing this company and that means the world when big money companies want to help change the world for the better. The world is full of people and people create a lot of waste. If we can make a conscious effort on simply trying to clean up after ourselves it would make a world of difference. Keep our oceans clean keep our neighborhoods clean and in return we'll have a better outlook on life in general.
