#207 - Mr. Hot Tub - Ross Township, Pennsylvania
Play • 2 hr 28 min

This week, in Ross Township, Pennsylvania, a man with a tragic past finds a new life, only to have it taken away, once again? Or is he the one responsible? Things become a bit more clear when we find out that the terrible, and seemingly accidental death has actually happened before. In exactly the same way. Will he get away with it twice??

Along the way, we find out that Pittsburgh loves good food, that it's almost impossible to drown in the tub, without any water, and that you can sometimes get away with murder, once, but don't make it a pattern!

232 - The Great Emu War
The Great Emu War! Such a weird and fun tale to tell. What an odd historical period. As World War I came to an end, Australia - whose economy was tanking, tried to figure out what to do with their returning veterans. They decided to give many of them parcels of land in Western Australia where they could grow wheat. And then the Great Depression hit. It hit countries all over the world, and few harder than Australia, and it hit few Australians harder than many of those veteran farmers. They now struggled to sell their wheat. And then, the emus started showing up and eating what little wheat they had left! Lots of emus. Around 20,000 of them. Australia’s national bird became a national pest, and desperate farmers reached out to the Australian government for help. They reached out to the Ministry of War. And the government sent them three soldiers, armed with two machine guns and a film crew. Probably should’ve sent in a lot more troops and a lot more guns - the emus were a much more formidable foe than anticipated. We return to the land down under today to suck Australia’s Great Emu War - on this bird-brained, machine gun, invasive creature edition, of Timesuck. 16: Richard Speck: Born to Raise Hell
On July 14, 1966, Chicago residents awoke to horrific news: Eight young nurses had been brutally killed in their dorm-style housing overnight. The killer had lost count of his victims and left one survivor, and soon, the hunt for Illinois-born and Texas-raised felon Richard Speck was on. The case, which gave birth to the phrase "random mass murder," would "shatter our innocence," according to the lead prosecutor in the highly publicized trial. It remains one of the most horrific crimes in the annals of American true crime. "Crimes of the Centuries ( " is a new podcast from the Obsessed Network ( exploring forgotten crimes from times past that made a mark and helped change history. Another Long Island
On Saturday, February 23rd - 2019, Jassy Correia was out celebrating her upcoming birthday at the popular Venu nightclub in Boston, MA. The following Wednesday, an alert went out that she was now officially considered a “missing person.” Family and friends hadn’t heard from her in days, and whilst Boston Police promptly posted the club’s surveillance video the night Jassy disappeared, they noticed that she was not alone. The question that collectively loomed over the city of Boston as time ran thin- was who was the man appearing on camera with Jassy, when she was last seen alive?
