Golfer Tiger Woods was injured in a serious car crash in the Los Angeles area on Tuesday morning, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. The department said in a statement that the decorated golfer had to be extricated from his vehicle following the rollover crash in Rancho Palos Verdes, California before being transported to a local hospital. A Los Angeles County Fire Department spokesperson did not confirm Woods' identity, but he classified the crash victim's injuries to USA TODAY Sports as serious but non-life threatening. Woods, a Jupiter Island resident, was the lone occupant of the car when it crashed.  See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
