When Joe Biden is sworn in Wednesday as the 46th president, deputies with Martin County Sheriff’s Office will be in Washington, D.C., as part of the security detail protecting the event, Sheriff William Snyder said. It’s the second time Snyder and a team of specially trained “rapid-response” deputies will attend a presidential inauguration to perform security duties. During the 2016 inauguration of Donald Trump, Snyder said, he and Martin deputies guarded the parade route along Pennsylvania Avenue to the White House.
