'Ugly' Phil O'Neil 'I have MS, but MS doesn't have me'
Play • 38 min

Radio host ‘Ugly’ Phil O'Neil was the voice behind Australia’s number one radio show in the 90’s and early 2000’s. He hosted the Hot 30 Countdown with his then wife Jackie O, interviewing and partying with the world's biggest celebrities.

As you’ll learn in this episode, the Phil of today is a very different man compared to those wild and heady times.  He's recently married the love of his life, he’s very private and doesn't care for the celebrity side of things. And for the first time he talks with Jess about his multiple sclerosis (MS) diagnosis and how that has changed his life.

Phil doesn't want anyone else to feel alone if they are going through a similar situation, so if you or a loved one are looking for support there is https://www.msaustralia.org.au/ which is an organisation that has helped him enormously and Overcoming MS https://overcomingms.org/

The Jess Rowe Big Talk Show acknowledges the Gadigal people, Traditional Custodians of the land on which we recorded this podcast, and pay our respects to their Elders past, present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders peoples here today.
