In this series of Rewirement from Legal & General, Angellica Bell is hearing colourful, unique and inspiring stories from people in retirement.
Many a new retiree has travel on their bucket list, but the pandemic has seen people put their plans on hold.
Looking to the future, there are plenty of other things to consider beyond global pandemics: from escalating health insurance costs to physically ageing, thinking smart about your later life travel plans is the best weapon to achieve your dreams.
Angellica hears inspiring stories from June and Elizabeth in this episode.
When June was unexpectedly widowed early in her retirement years, she already owned an avocado farm that she’d bought with her husband in Spain. June explains how she took time out, revisited her backpacking, Harley-Davison-riding roots, and re-planned a future where her travel habit was key.
Elizabeth and her husband are passionate about globetrotting – meeting new people and experiencing new locations with other travellers. Often the oldest on their adventures, nothing phases her. Next stop: the Northern Lights!
In the studio, Angellica’s joined by travel journalist Mark Hodson for some smart words on planning the right trips at the right time of life, and Legal & General’s Claire Singleton gives sound suggestions for how you might fund that special trip, whatever your life stage or situation.
