Type 2 diabetes is everywhere in this country and around the world – there could be 700 million cases worldwide in the next 25 years. The type 2 diabetes epidemic is getting worse, and it already costs our health system $20 billion a year. Sufferers face a whole range of terrifying complications – including amputation, strokes, heart attacks, and blindness. Experts say the rise of type 2 diabetes coincides with the explosion of ultra-processed foods over the last forty years. We're getting sicker and sicker every year but despite the huge burden and rising cases, it’s largely preventable.
